Coriander Leaves Chicken Gravy

Different one from usual kuzhambu.. with different colour, tastiest one...give a trial..Its really Sunday special kuzhambu..Can be side for any sorts of breakfast items.


1/2 kg Chicken pieces
1 no Onion
1 no Tomato
2 nos Bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon sticks
1/4cup Yoghurt
2nos Green chillies(slit opened)
2 tsp Dhania powder
1 tsp Red chilli powder
3 tsp Oil
Salt as per taste
2 pinch Turmeric powder

Ingredients-2
1 tsp Black peppercorns
1 tsp Cumin seeds
½ cup Cilantro leaves chopped
1 tsp Ginger chopped
6 nos Garlic pods
½ cup Grated coconut
2 nos Red chillies

Wash thoroughly the chicken pieces with turmeric powder,add the redchilli powder, dhania powder , yoghurt n salt to the chicken n marinate them for atleast one hour.

Heat a pan n dry roast the peppercorns, cuminseeds n red chillies from table 2..take a food processor n add rest all the ingredients from table 2 as well as the roasted ingredients, grind them nicely with a half cup of water into thick paste...cut the onions n tomatoes into small pieces.

Heat a heavy bottomed pan...add the oil, once the oil is hot , add the bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon sticks n fry them until they r well fried, now add the onions n stir them until they turns transculent, add the grounded paste to the onion n stir them continously until the raw smell goes on , this will take for a while, now add the tomatoes pieces n slit opened green chillies to them n stir them for a while, close the pan with the lid, put the flame in simmer n cook them for 15 minutes n stir them occasionally..

Now add the already marinated chicken pieces, stir them until the chicken pieces turns slightly cooked, cover the chicken pieces with sufficient water for the gravy, adjust the gravy as ur preference, cook them well until the chicken pieces gets well cooked...add salt if need while the chicken pieces r getting cooked...garnish with cilantro leaves (its optional)...

Tasty, spicy n colorful Cilantro Chicken kuzhambu is ready to serve with any rice dishes...
