Gramflour/Kadalamaavu Murukku

After thenkuzhal, we just love this gramflour murukku...its my dad's favourite whenever i prepare this murukku, my thoughts go towards my schooling days where my mom used to prepare coconut based murukku for us while she used to prepare specially gram flour murukkus for my dad, this murukku brings me loads of beautiful moments..hmm!!feel like going back to those days..Coming to this gramflour murukku, i prepared with storebought gram flour & home made rice flour both together works out awesome and these crispy murukkus suits incredibly prefect for evening snacks with hot coffee , crispy treat for deepavali..kid's friendly snacks, who will say no to these crispy beauties??..not me, even now am munching those beauties, do anyone need it..haha..

2cups Gram flour
1cup Rice flour
1tbsp Sesame seeds
1tsp Cumin seeds
1/4tsp Asafoetida powder
2tbsp Butter
Salt
Water
Oil for deepfrying

Make a smooth & stiff dough with gram flour, rice flour, sesame seeds, cumin seeds, butter, salt & asafoetida powder with enough water..Heat the oil for deepfrying in medium high flame and take a ball of dough, put in the muruku press..squeeze out the murukku over a greased plate and drop gently to hot oil, fry on both sides until the oil stops bubbling..drain the excess of oil in a paper towel..

Conserve in an air tightened box and enjoy this crunchy murukkus!..
