Jackfruit Seed Vadai/Palaakottai Paruppu Vadai

Simple vadai with dals n with jackfruit seeds, southindians add usually these seeds while preparing gravies r else as simple side dishes, to give a change to all those routine way of preparing i tried them out a vadais, they turned out delicious, can be a excellent side for lemon rice, tamarind rice n also as evening snacks, for snacks they will be awesome if they r served with coconut chutney...Sending this delicious vada to AFAM-Jackfruit guest hosted by LG of Tast of Mysore, event started by Maheswari...


1 cup Channa dal
15nos Jackfruit seeds
1/4cup Moong dal
1no Onion
2nos Green chillies
1tsp Fennel seed
1tsp Ginger chopped
2nos Garlic pods
5nos Curry leaves
Salt
2tsp Coriander leaves
Oil for deep frying
Soak both channa dal n moong dal separately for 2 hours..meanwhile chop finely onions, green chillies..cook the jackfruit seed in hot water, drain the cooked water n grind bit coarsely the seeds in a mixie..
Grind channa dal bit coarsely before taking out from the grinder r mixie jar add the soaked moong dal n grind along with fennel seed n salt..just sprinkle the water if its kinda hard to grind..
Add the chopped onions, greenchillies, ginger n smashed garlic pods, curryleaves as well coriander leaves to the vada batter..mix everything well with ur finger..check for the salt..
Heat oil for deep frying..take a small ball from the vada batter n flatten them as vadais, put it into hot oil n fry them until they turns brownish n crispy, finish the batter in the same way, drain the excess of oil with a paper towel...
Tasty Vadais !!!!!!!
