Greengram Coriander Pulao

I wanted to make sprouts with greengram and i soaked them purposely for it, but sterday while making my lunch those soaked green grams pulled me to make this filling, nutritious and protein packed pulao along with a masala prepared with coriander leaves..I prepared this pulao in pressure cooker which gets ready very easily and i served this wonderful looking green pulao with simple onion raita and papads..This pulao tastes fabulous which suits definitely prefect for a lunch box menu or for a party menu...Sending to PJ's Herbs and Flowers in My Platter-Coriander Leaves guest hosted by Krithi..

Greengram & Coriander Pulao

2cup Basmati rice
1cup Greengrams (soaked overnite)
1no Onion (big & chopped)
2nos Green chillies (slit opened)
2nos Whole spices (bayleaves, cloves, cardamom& cinnamon)
1tsp Ginger garlic paste
1cup Yogurt
Salt
Oil

To grind:
1cup Coriander leaves (chopped)
2nos Green chillies
1tbsp Coriander seeds
1tsp Peppercorns
1/2tsp Cumin seeds
1/2tsp Fennel seeds
1tsp Garam masala powder

Grind all the ingredients given under the list 'to grind as fine paste with enough water and keep aside..soak the basmati rice with yogurt and two cups of water for 10minutes..Heat enough oil in a pressure cooker, fry the whole spices until they turns brown, add immediately the chopped onions, slit opened green chillies and ginger garlic paste, saute until the raw smell goes away, immediately add the green grams, salt, grounded masala, cook everything in medium flame for 5minutes...

Drain the soaked yogurt-water from the rice and add to the cooking veggies, close the cooker with lid and let them boil..now add the soaked rice, stir everything well, close the lid and put the weight...Cook the pulao upto 3whistles and put off the stove..

Serve warm with onion raita..
