Sri Lankan Paruppu Kari

Sri Lankan Paruppu Kari, quite a delicious and easy dish, which doesnt need, not even a single drop of oil..this paruppu kari tastes damn delicious and prepared with simple ingredients like masoor dal, coconut milk, onion and green chillies spiced with cumin seeds and pepper corns..Adding coconut milk to this dal enhance the flavour of this dal curry and also makes more tastier than our usual versions of dal curries...This delicious paruppu kari tastes too good with simple hot rice topped with few drops of ghee..We enjoyed this yummy delicious lentils curry made with simple ingredients...U know wat this dal curry also need not even half an hour to prepare and its really very healthy...This Sri Lankan dal curry goes to AWED-Sri Lanka guest hosted by Siri, event started by DK ...Am also sending this paruppu kari dish to MLLA-Twelfth helping guest hosted by Apu of Annarasa, event started by  Susan...


1cup Masoor dal
1no Onion (chopped)
3nos Green chillies (chopped)
1/2cup Coconut milk
1tsp Cumin seeds
1/2cup Pepper powder
1/2tsp Turmeric powder
3nos Curry leaves
Salt

Wash and cook masoor dal with enough water, once its starts boil add the chopped onion and chopped green chillies and cook everything until the dal turns soft...add the cumin seeds, turmeric powder, curry leaves and cook everything until the dal turns thick..if u need bit watery u may add water..add finally the coconut milk, pepper powder and salt and cook for few minutes..

Serve hot with hot rice topped with ghee!!

mmm yummy!! coconut milk in dal..i really have to try this. We make dal with ground coconut added to it while making the kerala way..but never added coconut milk to it.
