Instant Multigrains Idli

Our today's dinner was this multigrains idli, we enjoyed having this idli with sambhar and spicy garlic chutney, both together turned out our dinner super healthy, delicious and super filling..This idli goes for quinoa, oats, cornmeal;ragi flour and pearl millet flour, quite a different idly with loads of nutrients and prefect for any aged peoples..Needless to say this idli is an instant version which gets ready very quickly, less than 20minutes..This idli turned out super fluffy coz of the eno salt is used for, if u dont have eno salt u can go for baking soda eventhough my preference goes for eno salt..Sending this healthy dish to Satya's Twist the Traditional - Idli..

Instant Multigrains idli

1/2cup Quinoa
1/2cup Rolled oats
1cup Cornmeal
2tbsp Ragi flour
2tbsp Pearl millet flour
2cups Sour yogurt
2nos Green chillies (chopped)
1/2tsp Eno Salt or Baking soda
1/4tsp Mustard seeds
1/4tsp Urad dal
1/2tsp Channadal
Few curry leaves
Salt
Oil

Heat few drops of oil, let splutters the mustard seeds, urad dal and channadal..add immediately chopped green chillies, curry leaves, fry for few seconds...

Meanwhile grind the quinoa, rolled oats as a coarse powder, mix the cornmeal, sour yogurt, ragi flour, pearl millet flour, powdered quinoa-oats mixture in a bowl, add this tempered spices to them and finally add the eno salt..stir quickly and pour a ladle of batter to the greased idli plates..Steam cook in idly cooker for 15-20minutes..

Just found your blog and feel as though I have struck a gold mind. I am a Fanatic for Indian Flavors. My husband always teases me saying that It was a mistake that I came from an Italian Family :)
From what I have already seen on your site- Im feeling incredibly inspired. (And know you have been bookmarked!)

It also just crossed my mind to invite you to participate in a weekly event I host titled Seasonal Sundays- which of course spotlights recipes using Seasonal Ingredients! (this recipe fits the theme perfectly!) http://realsustenance.com/

Ill be back again soon!
