Avocado Rasam

Avocado Rasam?? dont get confused, yes i have prepared rasam with avocado today for our lunch with some left over avocado chunks...To be honest this rasam tastes really fantastic with slight avocado flavour and was really eyecatching with a beautiful green colour..When i said to my DH that i have prepared rasam with avocado, he didnt trust me, even i can say that he was weird once i prononced the name...So funny na!!i love to create dishes with whatever comes to my mind, also am a gal who hardly trash the leftovers, those leftover avocado chunks pulled me to tried out this rasam and finally everyone at home loved this green rasam...Definitely peoples who loves avocados will definitely love this delicious green rasam, one more delectable dish from avocados to enjoy..this rasam goes directly to Siri's Healing Foods-Avocado also goes to RV & Sudeshna's FFSL-Healthy Fast Foods...




1cup Avocado (pieces)
1tsp Lemon juice
1no Tomato (crushed)
1tsp Home made rasam powder
4nos Garlic cloves
1no Slit opened green chilly
1/2tsp Mustard seeds
1/4tsp Cumin seeds
1/4tsp Asafoetida powder
2nos Dry red chillies
5nos Curry leaves
2tbsp Coriander leaves (chopped)


Make a smooth paste with avocado pieces and lemon juice in a blender,take the avocado puree, crushed garlic cloves, crushed tomatoes, home made rasam powder,curry leaves with enough salt and water together in a bowl ....heat enough oil and add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chillies,slit opened green chillies and asafoetida powder and let them fry...now add the avocado puree-spice water..once they starts bubbling put off the stove and garnish with coriander leaves,give a stir...

Serve hot with rice and any spicy side dishes!
