Dates Milkshake

Dates are also rich in natural fibres. Modern medicine has shown that they are effective in preventing abdominal cancer. They also surpass other fruits in the sheer variety of their constituents. They contain oil, calcium, sulphur, iron, potassium, phosphorous, manganese, copper and magnesium. In other words, one date is a minimum of a balanced and healthy diet. Dates are rich in several vitamins and minerals. When the level of trace elements falls in the body, the health of the blood vessels is affected leading to an increased heart-rate and a consequent inability to perform its function with normal efficiency. As dates are also rich in calcium, they help strengthen the bones. When the calcium content in the body decreases, children are affected with rickets and the bones of adults become brittle and weak. Dates are also important in keeping up the health of eyes. It is quite effective in guarding against night-blindness...dates require great care for selection. The sticky surface of the date attracts dust and impurities of the air to settle there. It is, therefore, advisable to purchase the best varieties in good packing condition and to wash them thoroughly before use. Here comes my simple milkshake with dates...

1 cup Milk
10 nos Seedless dates
1 tsp Honey
Ice cubes(optional)
1/2 cup Water

Boil the milk , add the dates to the boiled milk, keep aside for half an hour...r else can soak the dates in cold milk overnite n keep them in fridge. Take the mixie jar add the soaked dates, half cup of milk n honey with water..grind them together nicely ..now add the another half cup of milk n whip together..

Serve with Icecubes...Kids will love it..can also add chopped nuts r a scoop of vanilla icecream but is optional..
