Saffron Paneer Burfi

Its always a pleasure for me to make some home made paneer, quite been a long i havent made some home made paneer and this weekend i really wanted to make some paneer and prepared almost 3cups of fresh paneer, the famous Indian cheese..Immediately i wanted to give a try to make some sweets with this fresh home made paneer, also diwali was just around the corner so i was looking something as new sweets with paneer..Finally i went to paneer burfi, which was quite easy to prepare at the same time its tastes fabulous, needless to say more coz the picture itself say how tastier these burfis are..Yep we loved it and this sweets turned out super delicious, a prefect Diwali sweets..

Paneer burfi

2cups Paneer
1/4cup Milk powder
1/2cup Sugar
6tbsp Ghee
Few Saffron strands
1/4cup Powdered Almonds
Few melon seeds

Take the paneer, saffron strands, milk powder, powdered almonds, sugar, mix everything well, keep aside..Heat the ghee in a heavy bottomed pan, add this mixture and stir in low flame until the ghee gets separates..Remove from the heat and pour this paneer burfi over a greased plate, spread the burfi with a flat spoon..Sprinkle the melon seeds over the mixture, keep aside and cool completely..

Cut as desire..Enjoy!

Priya, The paneer you have mentioned in this recipe is it Paneer used for mutter paneer or Kowa? Pls. clarify

Priya Suresh said... Reply To This Comment

Hi Unknown, its the home made fresh paneer, yes the one we use for making mutter paneer, not the kova. Fresh crumbled paneer will works out wonder for this burfi.
