Eggless Rye Breakfast Pancakes

Hope you guys might have enjoyed 6 different No Onion NO Garlic gravies thoroughly which i have posted during last week. And this week's posts are going to be different and very healthy as well. Yes this week's of blogging marathon theme is Wholegrains. Am an ardent fan of oats, quinoa and i dont forget to grab them whenever i go for groceries. Recent addition to my pantry is Organic rye flour and spelt flour. Rye flour is one of the flour which is very much underrated though this flour have its important place in Scandinavian cuisine.Rye flour tends to be more nutritious than wheat or barley because of the whole nature it comes in, with endosperm, which is in the outer hull of the rye berry or kernel. The endosperm holds potent starches as well as fiber and nutrients. It’s much harder to separate and remove the germ and the bran from the endosperm during the milling, therefore carrying with it more vitamins and nutrients into the end product of rye flour.

Eggless Rye flour Breakfast Pancakes

Coming to this Rye pancakes, its quite a breakfast friendly dish to enjoy with your favourite spread or sauce. Since this pancakes called for rye flour, they will be bit dull in colour but they will definitely please your tastebuds. Though its eggless you wont miss the eggs here and trust me this pancakes will definitely please anyone. Very easy to prepare, this pancake batter calls for a simple whisking process. These pancakes came out extremely soft and we enjoyed thoroughly with some fruit jam and honey. Yes you doesnt need anything specific to enjoy these healthy eggless pancakes other than jam and honey. If you want prepare or get your favourite sauces to have along with this dark beauties.

Rye flour pancakes, Eggless Rye pancakes

2cup Rye flour
1/4cup Glutinous rice flour
1cup Yogurt
1/4cup Sugar
1tsp Baking powder
1/4tsp Baking soda
1tsp Vanilla extract
1/4tsp Salt
2tbsp Oil
Water ( as per need)
Oil or Butter (for cooking)

Take the rye flour,glutinous rice flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda,salt in a bowl.

Add in the yogurt, vanilla extract,oil in a bowl.

Add the wet ingredient to the dry ingredients,add enough water to make a thick batter. Keep aside for half an hour.

Rye flour pancakes, Eggless Rye pancakes

Heat a non stick pan,gently drop enough batter for pancakes,drizzle oil or butter if needed.

Cook on both sides until they get well cooked..

Serve warm with honey,maple syrup,chocolate syrup or nutella spread.

Rye Pancakes looks so fluffy and soft,Priya. Never used rye flour before, it sounds so healthy and nutritious, guess it's time to explore this flour. Looking forward to your whole grains recipes !!!

The rye pancakes served with jam look very attractive . We do not get rye flour here , but I did have rye breads while in US . I am sure these pancakes are a treat by themselves .

This is indeed a healthy option. I am yet to try spelt flour but have tried rye flour for baking as well as in Indian recipes. Will try this as well. Very interesting subtheme Priya

Rye pancakes look nice and fluffy. Serving them with jam is makes it a special breakfast treat. I wish I could get rye and spelt flours here. Love rye bread so am sure even pancakes must be so tasty.

Oh wow kekave venam we are so much in awww and thoroughly enjoyed your No onion No garlic recipes aks :) and wow such an amazing theme selection by you , you always rock with millets theme and here you are with amazing pancakes with rye flour.. I am loving spelt and rye flour as well, I have a pack lying in my pantry I would love to give this a try :) the pancakes look so spongy and soft and as always perfectly shaped !! Am hopping to see your other whole grain recipes :)

Love the beautiful golden color of the pancake. Pancakes are a great vehicle to try new whole grains. I love that you have used rye. I have just used it once to bake a bread and yet to try it again.
