Oats Crusted Rajma Balls

Its has been a long i havent prepared anything with rajma well known as red kidney beans, weekend went truly fast and prepared this crispy oats crusted rajma balls along with some cooked potatoes and spices for our sunday evening...These crispy balls suits fabulous for snacks or as an appetizier also definitely a crowd pleaser which suits prefectly for a party menu when served along simply with ketchup or some spicy chutneys..I served it simply with ketchup and everyone at home enjoyed having this crispy beauties without any hesitation, personally i felt its one of the best and better way to sneak rajma beans because none at home like rajma masala apart from me,since the cooked beans gets mashed along the potatoes, none will notice the addition of rajma beans and wat a wonderful way to feed my picky eaters with this fabulous beans..Sending this yummy crispy balls to Radhika's CBB Series - Evening Tiffin & to MLLA#35th helping guest hosted by Smitha, event by Susan..

Oats crusted rajma balls

2cups Cooked rajma beans
3nos Potatoes (cooked & mashed)
1no Onion(big & chopped)
3nos Green chillies (chopped)
1/2tsp Fennel seed powder
1tsp Garam masala powder
1tbsp Coriander leaves (chopped)
Salt
3tbsp Corn flour
Rolled oats (for crust)
Oil

Heat few drops of oil, saute the onions and green chillies along with fennel seed powder and coriander leaves until the onions turns transculent, put off the stove and let them cook..

Mash the cooked rajma beans, take the mashed beans along mashed potatoes, cooked onions, garam masala powder and salt...mix well and make medium sized balls from the mixture..Make a paste with corn flour and water, drop gently the balls in the cornflour paste and roll immediately in rolled oats, finish all the balls and keep in fridge atleast for an hour..

Heat oil for deep frying, once the oil gets hot, drop gently the oats crusted rajma balls and fry until the crust turns brown, drain the excess of oil with a paper towel and serve hot with ketchup...

These must be really tasty! I'd love to try them since I love both these beans and oats. Do you think that baking instead of deep frying may work for these little beauties? Thanks!
