Green Peas Masala Chaat/Peas Chaat/Pacha Pattani Masala Chaat

'Chaat', the word itself makes me drool, am an ardent fan of chaat foods. These street foods are my most favourite foods and i can survive for many days with this incredible foods. If i crave for some street foods, i dont have any other option than dishing out myself at home. Yes we dont have chaat food stalls in Paris, heard that some Indian restaurants serves chaat foods, my friends said that they are not super fantastic hence i dropped the idea of tasting chaat foods in restaurants. However if you know how to dish out those fabulous street foods at home, its better to make it out ourselves na. Healthwise and tastewise nothing can beat the homemade stuffs,obviously since ever i started making chaat foods at home, i dont hesitate a second to dish out myself.

You might have noticed that am running mega marathon with 5 ingredients for 5 weeks under the theme 'Cooking Carnival', and am showcasing Dry Green Peas as my star ingredient of this week's marathon. After two delicious dishes, am posting this lipsmacking Green peas masala chaat. Am an ardent fan of peas masala and i have been waiting for a chance to prepare some peas masala chaat to satisfy my crave for street foods. When i picked dry green peas for the ingredient of this week, i decided immediately to dish out peas chaat. Finally i did and everyone at home enjoyed thoroughly this delicious and nutritious chaat food. Definitely a satisfying chaat food to please some hungry tummies around you. An excellent evening snacks to prepare and enjoy without any guilt.

Green peas chaat, peas chaat

3cups Soaked green peas
2nos Potatoes (cooked & diced)
2nos Onions (chopped)
1no Tomato (chopped)
1tsp Chilly powder
1/2tsp Coriander powder
1/2tsp Cumin powder
1/4tsp Garam masala powder
1/4tsp Cumin seeds
2tbsp Oil
Salt
Green chutney & Sweet Chutney
Sev (as per need)
1no Red onion (chopped)
Chopped tomatoes
Few coriander leaves (chopped)

Pressure cook the soaked green peas for 3 whistles.

Meanwhile heat the oil in a pan,fry the cumin seeds, add the chopped onions and fry until they turns transculent.

Add the tomatoes and cook until they turns mushy. Add the diced potatoes and cook for a while.

Now add the coriander powder, chilly powder, cumin powder and garam masala powder, cook for few minutes.

Meanwhile take 1/4cup of cooked green peas in a mixie and grind as fine paste.

Add in the cooked green peas, grounded peas paste with cooked water and bring it to boil.

Cook everything in simmer for few minutes, put off the stove.

While serving,pour enough green peas masala in a bowl.

Add in green chutney and sweet chutney as per need on the top of the masala.

Now add enough finely chopped onions,chopped tomatoes,chopped coriander leaves and top it with enough sev.

Serve immediately.
