Eggless Flower Shaped Bread Rolls

I have tried already varieties of shaped yeasted breads but still i have few more to give a try and i have a  list of shaped breads to bake soon. After baking some Key shaped bread, i prepared myself to bake something cute and attractive bread rolls to serve a bowl of soup for our dinner. While going through google, i saw this cute flower shaped bread rolls and i tried my hands immediately to bake some as they are seriously very easy to shape and bake. Just roll the bread dough and cut strips out of it, roll them tightly and arrange them as petals to form a flower shaped bread rolls, how easy na. Shaping this bread rolls is seriously very quick and simple and the end result is definitely a cute looking bread roll.

Eggless Flower Shaped Bread Rolls


If you are planning a party or a get together, and you want to decorate your dinner or lunch table with edible decorations, am sure this pretty looking bread rolls will definitely please your guest's eyes. With simple efforts and usual baking, you can bake out a dozen of this edible flowers quickly than you can imagine. Though many versions of flower shaped breads do exists, i enjoyed shaping these easiest one. With a help of an adult, even a kid can shape this flower bread rolls easily. Am running this week's blogging marathon with Shaped yeasted bread as theme, and this cute looking bread flowers are going for this week's theme.

Eggless Flower Shaped Bread Rolls, Flower bread rolls

2+1/2cups All purpose flour
1tsp Instant yeast
1tsp Sugar
2tbsp Olive oil
1/2tsp Salt
1/2cup Luke Warm water
Milk for brushing

In a bowl mix the flour,yeast,sugar,olive oil and salt, add the luke warm water into the flour and make dough with additional water only when it is required.

Dough should be smooth not wet. Knead the dough for 10 minutes.

Now drizzle the dough with olive oil and transfer it into a bowl and cover it with the cling film.

Let the dough rest at a warm place  until it doubles in size.

Punch the dough and knead for 5 minutes, now roll the dough as a rectangle disc.



Cut the dough as small vertical stripes, remove 6 stripes and roll them tightly to arrange as a flower in an baking tray lined with a baking paper.

Continue the same process with the remaining dough, let them sit again in a warm place for half an hour.

Preheat the oven to 350F. Brush the flower shaped bread rolls with milk and bake for 15-20minutes or until the crust turns golden brown.

Let it cool completely and enjoy.
