Christmas Meringue Trees

Merry Christmas Wishes to All !!!

Meringue, i came to know about this kind of desserts or confections once i landed France, actually while my H took me to a walk, i was intrigued to see some whitish fluffy cuties sitting in our street corner Bakery. Immediately  i asked for it and H bought it for me,instantly i have completely fallen in love with this egg whites based crispy meringue. They just melt in mouth, later i came to know that we can make them easily at home. I tried my hands in making meringues at home and failed twice. Obviously i never want to give a try when its comes to meringue, days goes on and as a blogger i learned so many techniques regarding baking. Again i tried meringues at home, its was big success, you can take a look at my Meringue Mushrooms which is used for decorating this Yule log cake. But my today's post is quite a different from this meringue mushrooms, i followed Swiss meringue which makes some beautiful meringue.

Swiss meringue goes for egg whites whisked over a bain-marie to warm the egg whites, and then whisked steadily until it cools. This forms a dense, glossy marshmallow-like meringue which is later baked as meringue cookies or kisses. My today's post goes for a Christmas special meringues, yes its Edible christmas trees, how wonderful na. They came out super light, airy with a crispy exterior. This trees became a big hit among the kids and they just loved it. Hence this post is going to this week's blogging marathon theme as i picked Kid's delight - Party foods/finger foods.Check out the Blogging Marathon page for the other Blogging Marathoners doing BM#59.

Line your baking tray with silicon mat or a baking sheet.

Start piping your meringue on the prepared baking tray. Squeeze out the meringue as a christmas tree, once its reaches the enough height, stop squeezing and pull your hands up slowly.

Continue the same way, pipe the trees in a tray.

Sprinkle the coloured spinkles on the piped meringue trees.

Bake in pre-heated oven for 80 to 90 minutes at 100F.

Once baked, let cool on wire rack.
