Lebanese crunchy sesame cookies, Lebanese sesame cookies ,eggless sesame cookies

You might have noticed that am running a month long blogging marathon with countries name starting with alphabets aka world cuisine with alphabets. For the alphabet 'L' i chosed Lebanese cuisine, since this cuisine is well known for me. Some of my Lebanese friends inspired me to make many delicious dishes from their cuisine. I have already tried couple of dishes for this beautiful cuisine, but however this time am going to share a super crunchy, very nutty sesame cookies. Actually this cookies goes for an egg, i skipped the egg and prepared it simply as eggless, we didnt missed the humble 'egg ' here. If you love sesame seeds in baked goodies, this cookies are just for you, make a huge batch of these cookies else you will regret soon, yes these cookies are dangerously addictive, you cant just stop with one.Sending to Bake Fest guest hosted by Nalini.

Lebanese crunchy sesame cookies, Lebanese sesame cookies

Recipe source: Maureen Abood
2+1/4 cups All-purpose flour
1tsp Baking powder or cream of tartar
1/2tsp Baking soda
1/4tsp Salt
1/2cup Unsalted butter(softene
2/3cup Granulated sugar
1tsp Vanilla extract
1/4cup Whole milk, lukewarm
2 cups toasted sesame seeds

Preheat the oven to 375˚F. Line 2baking  trays with baking sheet, keep aside.

In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

Beat the soft butter with the sugar on high speed until well combined, about 2 minutes, now add the vanilla.

Add the flour mixture and mix slowly with your fingers until the mixture comes together. The dough will be very dry.

Add the milk gradually and knead until a soft dough forms.

Place sesame seeds in a small bowl. Shape about a tablespoon of dough into a ball and flatten it.

Press the disk into the sesame seeds, turning over and onto its sides to coat completely with sesame seeds.

Repeat with the rest of the dough and sesame seeds.

Place the cookies about an inch apart on the lined baking tray.

Bake the first pan as soon as it is ready and continuing to make the second pan of cookies while the first one bakes.

Bake the cookies for 14-16 minutes, until golden brown, rotating the pan halfway through baking for evenly.

Remove the pan from the oven and cool the cookies completely.

They will firm up and get crunchy when they are cool.

Store immediately in an airtight container.
