Today am taking you all to an another dream destination of many, yes my today's post is from Mauritius. Mauritius cuisine is a real mix of French, Chinese and Indian cuisine, however this cuisine is very much influenced by our Indian cuisine. While googling about this Mauritian cuisine, i was surprised to see that their most popular dishes are always prepared with an Indian touch. Am running this week's blogging marathon with Cook by capital as theme. Hence i picked the alphabetic letter 'P', after Paris and Prague, i couldnt stop myself to pick Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius. Port Louis, is very much known for their street foods. And i picked one of the most known and popular drink which quite common in Central Market in Port Louis. And this drink is easily available anywhere in the island.

Almond Chia Seeds Breakfast Smoothie
Breakfast smoothie, this smoothie is quite enough to fill some hungry tummy easily with less efforts. Actually am not a breakfast person earlier, i usually skip them but now am very much strict towards me to have atleast a slice of bread with a cup of coffee or tea before leaving. And this works,am skipping that mid morning snacking habits which helps a lot for not skipping my lunch. Yes i love snacking and now having breakfast in morning is literally keeping me away from it. If i dont feel like having a bread slice, i will whisk some smoothie to fill my tummy. And this works even for my kids. Obviously i do prepare varieties of smoothies early in the morning to finish our breakfast in time. One of my recent trial with breakfast smoothie is this Almonds, chia seeds smoothie.

Mixed Berries Lemonade
f not berry season here in Paris, though frozen mixed berries comes to rescue if i plan something to dish out with mixed berries. Mixed berries works awesome either in bakes though i usually prepare them as mixed berries jam quite often. However if you get a chance to whisk out something different from the usual way of dishing out something with mixed berries and lemon, how can i resist to blend together to prepare this ultimate summer drink. This mixed berries lemonade is definitely a summer treat, a fabulous thirsty quencher, you can prepare this lemonade with simple efforts.

Roasted Rice Tea/Japanese Dark Rice Tea & Pimp My Rice - A Cookbook Review
Rice is a staple food of Indians, we cant survive without rice and we need it for our daily menu. Recently Sam collins and Gemma from an English cook book Publisher pinged me in Facebook to review a cookbook. Cookbook to review who will say 'no' obviously i immediately said yes and this book came all the way from England to Paris. When i opened the courrier, the book cover attracted me immediately, there was no attractive food pictures over the cover, a black background with brass letters saying Pimp my rice was seriously interesting and pulled me to check out the content of the book.

Ragi Chocolate Shake
I seriously want to clear few of my drafts since a long, finally today i got a chance to post one among those drafted posts. This ragi chocolate shake goes for an excellent and easy breezy preparation, actually i prepared this shake from one of my favourite blog to celebrate that blog's anniversary. Trust me, none will notice the addition of ragi here as chocolate syrup and chocolate ice cream will mask completely the addition of cooked ragi porridge very well. Obviously this shake is one of the excellent and very best way to sneak as ragi porridge is the most hated whole grain porridge by the kids.I tried many versions of porridge to feed my kids especially with ragi or finger millet, everytime either they will have just two or three tablespoons or else i have to beg them to finish their bowl of porridge. But when i served this shake, my younger one just finished his whole glass within few seconds. Obviously i was shocked and surprised when i saw his glas was completely empty.

Limonada Con Panela/Papelón con limón/Venezuelan Panela Limonade ~~ Venezuelan Cuisine
A month of blogging marathon is getting almost over, yes just few alphabets are left, happy that i accompalished this Around the world in 30days theme brightly by cooking various dishes from 26 countries to fit the tastebuds of my family members. For 'V', i was between Vietnam and Venezuela, vietnamese ingredients are easily available for me since am living in China town. However i want to try a different cuisine and hence i opted for Venezuelan cuisine.
Venezuelan Cuisine, a complete unknown cuisine for me, while googling i found that this Cuisine has a lot of European influences (especially Italian, Spanish and French) and is quite flavourful. But you can also find indigenous as well as African influence. As Venezuela is such a large and diverse country, each region has its own distinctive regional cooking. On the coast you will find high quality fish, shellfish, crayfish, fish soups as well as fish stews. Try the pargo (red snapper) or the dorado if you have the chance. Coconut is also part of some dishes. In the Andean region the food is quite different. Even the most famous dish the "arepa" is not made of cornmeal but wheat. Here you can find cured meats and sausages which are sold in many rural villages. You should not miss the famous fresh trucha (trout) dishes which come from the many Andean streams and lakes. The food in the Amazon region varies a lot from the rest of Venezuela. Besides the main ingredients like yucca, corn, beans and bananas some people even eat turtles, tapirs, monkeys birds and deep fried ants.Meat lovers will enjoy the parillas (mixed grill) in Venezuela as the quality of meat is quite high and the prices are low. You can choose between muchacho (roast beef), solomo (sirloin) and lomito (steak).
