Tomato Rasam

Rasam, as i told already everyone at home love rasam like anything, i used to prepare rasam almost daily for my little cute familly, its somewat a routine to make rasam n its quite easy with homemade rasam powder,here comes tomato rasam, my most favourite rasam, love the tangy taste of this rasam, they goes awesome with spicy potato fries, needless to say how delicious they will be!!!..the tomatoes in this rasam can be used as pieces r grounded into puree, they can be served simply with hot rice n why not with ghee with any side dish..


3nos Tomatoes
1tsp Rasam powder
1/2cup Cooked dal water
1tsp Lemon juice
3nos Curry leaves
1/2tsp Mustard seeds+cumin seeds
1/4tsp Asafoetida powder
2nos Dry red chillies
2tsbp Chopped coriander leaves
Salt
Oil

Grind the chopped tomato pieces as puree, add the puree to the cooked dal water also add rasam powder, salt n 1/2cup water...heat a tsp of oil n add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida powder n red chillies n let them splutters, add the tomato n dal water immediately, let them boil..put of the stove once they starts boiling add the lemon juice n chopped coriander leaves..

Serve hot with rice!!

  7. this is my favourite too.Though I never add lemon juice .It must be added tang to the rasam.will try next time

  8. Adding lemon is pretty new.I have always used lemon only for lemon rasam....will try ur method next time.
