If i pick 'Wholegrains' as theme for this week's Mega marathon, how can i keep myself away from Oats. Yes oats, this fibre rich grains are my most favourite wholegrain which i never fail to grab them whenever i go to the grocery. Oats is an another versatile wholegrain which works awesome to cook any sort dishes with. I have already dished out many delicious with this incredible grains. Oats makes an excellent breakfast, yes it a great way to start you day with this incredible grain. Add your favourite nuts and fruits to a bowl of your oatmeal. You can add oats in your daily menu, yes use oatmeal while baking some cookies which is quite a favourite evening snacks for kids of all ages. Dont forget to add oats flour or whole oats while baking muffins or breads. And also sprinkle oat bran in your hot or cold cereal. Oats are an excellent source of manganese, they are also very good in phosphorus and a good source of copper, vitamin B l, dietary fiber, zinc and protein.
Coming to my today's post, this oats breakfast bars goes for this week's blogging marathon as am running this week's theme with Wholegrains. After Rye flour and quinoa, i couldnt stop myself making a breakfast friendly nuts and fruits loaded bars. These bars are simply ultimate, easy to bake and very addictive to munch. Kids will definitely go crazy after munching this ultimate bars. I used honey and couple of nuts, seeds and dry fruits to bring naturally the sweetness to this incredible breakfast bars. Easy to pack in anyone snack box or wrap and carry for a busy morning breakfast, this breakfast bars are seriously fabulous to finish your breakfast with an ease. These bars stays absolutley prefect for more than a week, if they are conserved properly.
3cups Quick Cooking oats
3tbsp Honey
1/4cup Almonds
1/4cup Cashew
1/4cup Hazelnuts
1/2cup Chocolate chips
2tbsp Flaxseed
2tbsp Sunflower seeds
1/4cup Raisins
1/4cup Gojjiberries
1/4cup Sultana
1/2cup Wheat flour
1/2cup Dates (chopped)
1/2cup Melted butter
Take the almonds, cashews, hazlenuts, dates in a mixie jar, blend as coarse mixture.
Now take the oats, grounded nuts mixture, raisins, gojjiberris, flaxseeds, chocolate chips, sultana, sunflower seeds, wheat flour in a bowl.
Add the melted butter, honey, mix everything well. Preheat the oven to 350F.
Line a baking tray with a baking sheet, drop the prepared mixture to the baking tray.
Press the mixture well and bake it for 20-25minutes or until the top get brown.
Let the mixture gets cool completely, slice them as per need.
Conserve them properly and enjoy.

Okay Priya bookmarked right away . My son loves breakfast bars and lately I haven’t done any cooking for him , I have all the ingredients and this recipe sounds just perfect . Excellent breakfast bars to keep you going for hours !
ReplyDeleteLove these homemade breakfast bars. I love breakfast bars but I don't buy because of the amount sugar in the store bought ones. Homemade is best and we can control the ingredients. Yes, whole grains theme is not complete without a oats recipe. :-)

ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to make these oatmeal bars of a while but never get down to it. Crushing the nuts to a coarse powder is brilliant as then all the mixture holds well together instead of braking up on baking.
