Quinoa, this nutty grain have its own place in my weekly cooking. I dont forget to cook these healthy, protein rich grain often to include in our weekly menu. Since these grains are seriously versatile you can dish them as much as you like from starters to desserts. If you want to get ideas to cook with this incredible grains dont forget to check my space. Coming to today's my post, its quite an easy and quick quinoa dish which calls for a couple of eggs, garam masala powder and chilly powder to spice this excellent dish. Coming to Quinoa is one of the ancient grains as much as like Amaranth, barley and farro which are rapidly growing in popularity because of their good array of health benefits.Quinoa was kown to the Incas as 'the mother of all grains' and it was first cultivated over 5,000 years ago. Though hundreds of types of quinoa do exists, the most common versions available in stores are white, red and black quinoa.
If you would have went through my earlier posts you might have noticed that am running a month of blogging marathon with 4 different theme for 4 weeks. For the first week i have posted some interesting International breakfast dishes and for the second week i opted for No Onion No Garlic recipes and we are running our third week of Mega Marathon this week. And i picked Wholegrains as theme, after rye flour pancakes, i couldnt stop myself to dish out a simple but yet a delicious Egg quinoa which can be prepared very much easily with less efforts.You can even pack this nutritious quinoa dish in anyone's lunch box with a spicy side dish. Since we love quinoa in any form, everyone at home enjoyed this fabulous quinoa dish very much with some fryums and papads for our lunch.
1cup Quinoa (cooked separately)
2nos Eggs
1/2tsp Garam masala
1/2tsp Chilly powder
1/2tsp Cumin seeds
Salt
Few curry leaves
Oil
Heat oil in a pan,let crack the cumin seeds. Meanwhile whisk the eggs with garam masala, chilly powder and salt.
Once the oil is hot, add the spiced eggs,curry leaves and make them as scrambled eggs.
Add now the cooked quinoa, and toss everything gently.
Cook until the quinoa gets well mixed with scrambled eggs.
Serve warm with some papads or fryums.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a healthy version of egg fried rice. We have started getting quinoa here, but it is still so expensive, so haven't tried it yet. Looking at all the innovative recipes with quinoa, I really need to try it..
