Just check my today's dish and am sure this simple but yet a healthy and delicious rice dish will definitely please your kid's tastebuds. I have seen rarely kids saying 'no ' to paneer, obviously my today's rice dish is one of the easiest dish you can prepare in less time than you can imagine. Honestly, my kids are ardent fan of carrot rice, if i feel bored or lazy to cook a meal, i will stick definitely with easy dishes. One among those easy dishes is Carrot rice. Just freshly grated carrots when spiced with usual spice powder,once sauteed and mixed with rice makes a quick carrot rice. If you add some cubed paneer to this simple rice, trust me this simple, quick carrot rice will get an another avatar and becomes a calcium rich rice dish. If you have leftover cooked rice and cubed paneer in your fridge, this rice gets ready within less than 10 minutes.
Am running this 4th week of Mega Marathon with Kid's Lunchbox Recipes as theme, after posting some delicious, quick and interesting Kid's friendly dishes for the past 5 days i couldnt stop myself posting an another gluten free dish. Yes Rice is a gluten free grains and this grain is a staple foods for South Indians. Obviously we dish out some tremendous one pot meal or flavoured rices with any sort of vegetables/meats. Coming to this Carrot Paneer rice, just pack this healthy and mildly sweet rice in anyone's lunch box along with some side dishes or else with fryums makes a satisfying, filling meal to please anyone's tastebuds. Kids will enjoy thoroughly this rice dish as this rice is loaded with paneer cubes.Give a try to this incredible kids friendly rice dish if you are looking for a simple, quick, easy breezy dish to please your kids with less efforts.
2cups Cooked rice
2nos Carrots (grated)
1cup Paneer (cubed)
1no Onion (large & chopped)
2nos Green chillies (slit opened)
1tsp Cumin seeds
1tsp Pav bhaji masala powder
1/4tsp Pepperpowder
1tsp Garam masala powder
Few curry leaves
Oil
Salt
Heat enough oil,fry the cumin seeds and curry leaves, add immediately the chopped onions,slit opened green chillies,saute until the onions turns transculent.
Now add the chopped carrots, saute everything for few seconds.
Add the pav bhaji masala,garam masala powder,salt and cook everything in high flame for few seconds, dont over cook the veggies.
Meanwhile fry the cubed paneer with few drops of oil in a pan and keep aside..
Finally add the cooked rice,pepper powder,fried paneer cubes and toss everything gently.
Serve hot with chips or papads.

Carrot Paneer rice looks fanastic, Priya. It's a good idea to add paneer in the carrot rice, haven't done this before, will give it try when i came carrot rice next time. Good share !!!

ReplyDeleteI am loving this combo of veggies and spices in this rice . I normally don’t use carrots in rice , but the combination of carrots, Paneer and PavBhaji masala all sound so good , I am drooling over this rice .

ReplyDeleteWow, love this easy to make carrot rice. My son doesn’t like carrot but I guess he won’t even notice it if it’s finely grated. Love the addition of paneer - makes it protein rich and of course delicious.

ReplyDeleteYEs, kids can never say no to paneer! I generally make paneer rice and carrot rice as separate dishes. This is one super combo that kids will really like to see in their lunch box. Good one Priya.
