Brioche is a French bread with rich,soft,light crumb. After baguette the famous french bread, brioche have their own place in French breakfast. Most of our weekend breakfast goes for brioche, nutella, jam with hot chocolate or coffee. Yes brioche and croissants are our most favourite weekend breakfast foods which we never miss to enjoy with our family. Since weekdays are very hectic, each and everyone at home starts their day with an easy breakfast bars or with a bowl of cereals. Obviously we look for weekend to have a satisfying breakfast with our favourite breads/pastries/viennoiseries.
This week's blogging marathon is going to be Famous breakfast from different places, after some deep fried Bulgarian dough, i couldnt stop myself to post our family favourite Brioche buns. These buttery, eggy brioche buns suits extremely prefect for making any sort of breakfast friendly sandwich or else to toast and enjoy with your favourite spread. Kids love this brioche buns very much with nutella but still these brioche buns tastes extremely delicious if you make French toast with them. Though i buy brioche often from stores, as a home baker i love to bake my own batch brioche buns at home as well. Brioche buns stays prefect more than a week if they are conserved properly.
4cups Bread flour or all purpose flour
1tbsp Active dry yeast
1/2cup Milk (luke warm)
1no Egg
2nos Egg yolks
1/2cup Sugar +1tsp Sugar
1tsp Salt
100grms Butter
Egg yolk for brushing
Mix the yeast,a teaspoon of sugar and salt to the luke warm milk, keep aside until the yeast turns foamy.
Meanwhile take the flour,egg yolks,egg,sugar in a large bowl, add gradually the foamy yeast and turn everything as a soft dough, now add the butter and knead everything for 10minutes.
Arrange the dough in a bowl covered with a towel,keep aside for atleast for 2hours until they double their volume.
Knead the dough again for few minutes, divide the dough as 8-10 equal balls.
Grease a round pan, arrange the balls one by one and let it sit for an hour covered with a damp cloth.
Preheat the oven to 350F,brush the top of the brioche with an egg yolk.
Bake in middle rack for 20-25minutes until the crust turns golden brown.
Enjoy your brioche rolls with your favourite spread or toast it to enjoy with butter.
