Nage de Fraise à l'Orange/Strawberries in Orange Syrup

After few traditional and baked goodies from French cuisine, my today's post is an another interesting, easy breezy dessert with loads of strawberries. I have been baking a lot for this month's blogging marathon as i picked French cuisine for Journey through the cuisine. Since most of my dishes went for baking, i couldnt resist to give a try to this simple,definitely a refreshing dessert after a heavy meal. Strawberries are showing their heads slowly in most of the fruit stalls here. Spring is here, needlessto say most of the seasonal fruits will be available easily everywhere,i just love this season especially for the variety of fruits, this season gives to us. Strawberries, this fruit is our family favourite, obviously when this fruits comes to market i will never forget to get this fantastic fruit. When i was searching for a French recipe's name starts with 'N' through google master, he showed me couple of recipes but i sticked with this simple fruit loaded dessert.

This dessert takes very less time to get ready, a simple sugar syrup with orange juice and orange zest makes this beautiful dessert. This sliced strawberries added to this orange flavoured sugar syrup when served chilled makes this ultimate fruit dessert. One of the easiest dessert to prepare if you are planning a get together or if you dont want to spend your time in kitchen for preparing a dessert, trust me you will thoroughly enjoy this nage de fraise. You can also serve this strawberries dessert along with your favourite cake or icecream or else just serve topped with whipped cream,yes pair with anything as your desire to enjoy your dessert thoroughly.

Nage de Fraise à l'orange, Strawberries in Orange Syrup

1/2kg Strawberries
1/4cup Sugar
2cups Orange juice
1tbsp Orange zest

Slice the strawberries, keep aside.

Bring boil half a cup of water, add the sugar and cook until the sugar gets dissolves. Add in the orange juice and orange zest, bring boil and put off the stove.

Add the sliced strawberries to the warm orange syrup,keep it aside. Once the syrup gets cool completely, arrange in fridge.

If you want to discard the orange zest, please discard them before serving.

Serve as a dessert after a meal.

  15. what a great way to enjoy fresh strawberries - when the farmers markets are full of them in the summer I will definitely try this with those fresh and sweet strawberries
