Wraps are easy to carry and definitely a filling meal one can have happily even if they are in hurry. Simple to make and healthy as well depending upon the filling you goes for. Most of the wraps are prepared with either meat or vegetables, i tried my hands in making a protein loaded nutritious wrap with a spicy chickpeas filling. Actually i was planning for a grilled vegetable wrap but some cooked chickpeas left in my fridge pulled me to make this super healthy and satisfying wrap. As i told in my previous post, this is my second post of tortilla based dishes. After chimichanga, this spicy chickpeas sandwich wrap was a big hit especially with my kids. H liked it but he asked some shredded chicken salad to have along with, he missed the meat part in this wrap, however we cant satisfy everyone at home.
Again, i used the homemade flour tortillas for making this incredible sandwich. Spicy chickpeas brings the spiciness while lettuce and cucumber took care of the crunchiness in this sandwich. You can easily pack this sandwich even in your lunch box. I used cream cheese as spread, obviously this wrap is prefect for any ages. You can make this wrap for a light meal and definitely a fabulous feast to whoever likes to have an easy, filling and satisfying meal. Am running my fourth week of blogging marathon with Tortilla based dishes as this week's theme.
5 Flour Tortillas
Few lettuce leaves
Sliced cucumber fingers
Cream cheese (for spread)
Spicy chickpeas:
1+1/2cup Chickpeas
1/2tsp Chilly powder
1tsp Garam masala powder
Salt
Oil
Heat oil, add the chickpeas, saute for few minutes.
Add the chilly powder, garam masala powder, salt and oil.
Sprinkle some water and cook everything in simmer until the chickpeas gets well coated with the spices.
Mash it lightly and put off the stove.
Let it cool completely.
Assembling:
Spread the cream cheese generously over the flour tortillas.
Arrange few lettuce leaves, top it with cucumber fingers.
Now spoon enough spicy chickpeas and roll the tortillas tightly.
Slice them in the middle as serve as wrap.
