Simple kheer with rice but with an interesting nutty touch, yep i used grounded almond paste to give a nutty texture and a wonderful flavour to the usual rice kheer..This rice kheer tastes super delicious when served warm or chilled...Rice cooked in low fat milk, almond paste and sweet condensed milk turned out super rich, creamy, nutty and delicious..
1/2cup Basmati rice
2cups Milk
1/2cup Sweetened condensed milk
15nos Almonds
Few pistachios (grounded) for garnishing
1/2tsp Cardamom powder
1/4tsp Almond essence
Soak the almonds with quarter cup of warm milk for an hour and grind as fine paste..cook the basmati rice in pressure cooker along with remaining milk for 3 whistles, once the steam get released add the sweetened condensed milk, grounded almond paste, almonn essence, cardamom powder and cook everything until the kheer gets well thickens..
Serve warm or chilled with some pistachios..
