2cups Rice(soaked for 15minutes)
1/4cup Shallots (chopped)
1/2cup Garlic cloves (chopped)
1/2tsp Mustard seeds
1/2tsp Urad dal
2nos Dry red chillies
1tsp Red chilly powder
Few curryleaves
Salt
Oil
Take the soaked rice with 4cups of water in a microwave safe bowl, cook in high power for 20 minutes,until the rice get cooked..keep aside and let them cool completely..
Take enough oil in a bowl,add the mustard seeds,urad dal,dry red chillies and curry leaves, cook for 2-3 minutes in high power, add the chopped shallots and chopped garlic cloves,red chilly powder and salt,cook again for 5-7minutes (stir in between twice)..Finally add the cooked rice, toss gently and just cook for few seconds in microwave oven and serve..
Enjoy with papads...
mmmmmmm I love this rice. The last time I had this rice was during my post natal days. I will have to make this again :)

ReplyDeleteMy mil use to make make something similar in rice cooker. She used only garlic, whole garam masala and green peas. I was thinking of following her recipe and trying it in the mc. Your recipe is a push to try it.
