Hope most of us will be busy in making savouries and sweets rite now at home for Diwali celebrations, yeah even i doing the same too , today i prepared some crispy murukkus using rolled oats along with rice flour, urad dal flour, split roasted dal flour and turned as soft dough with coconut milk and butter..This crispy murukku tastes awesome and turned really prefect, delicious murukku suits very prefect to celebrate Diwali and am gonna prepare some thattais in few hours again, yep hectic day but enjoy making savouries for diwali...Will be back soon with my savouries and sweets which i have prepared for this diwali..
2cups Rice flour
1/4cup Urad dal
1/2cup Rolled oats
1/2cup Split roasted gram dal/Pottukadalai
1tsp Butter (room temperature)
2tbsp Sesame seeds
1tsp Cumin seeds
1cup Coconut milk
Salt
Oil for deepfrying
Grind as fine powder the split roasted gram, dry roast the rolled oats and grind as fine powder also dry roast the urad dal, grind as fine powder.. Take the rice flour, split gram dal flour,oats flour and urad dal flour along with salt, sesame seeds, cumin seeds,meanwhile heat the coconut milk,butter together in simmer, dont boil the coconut milk, add this heated coconut milk to the flours, knead everything as soft and stiff dough..
Heat oil for deepfrying, take a ball of dough, put in the muruku press..squeeze out the murukku over a greased plate and drop gently to hot oil, fry on both sides until the oil stops bubbling..drain the excess of oil in a paper towel..
Conserve in an air tightened box and enjoy this crunchy murukkus!

Wowo you added oats to them, i didn't know you could you have made them guilt free by adding oats, they look so so good.

hi priya.. can i use water or oil instead of coconut milk.. as my hubby is not a big fan of it.. if its a must i will go for it otherwise suggest an alternative!
