Quinoa & Goji Berries Kheer/Quinoa Goji Berries Pudding

Quinoa is an excellent versatile grain to cook anything with. Quinoa have its important place in my cooking since a while. After oats, quinoa have its own place in my pantry. Though i have prepared many sorts of sweets with this incredible tiny grains, i love to cook this wholegrains as Indian style of pudding. Am running this week's theme with Sweets of similar kind as theme, and i opted for Pudding/Kheer as my choice of sweet. If you are looking for a healthy and droolworthy Indian sweet dish for your festive meal or to celebrate an event, dont forget to give a try to this gluten free Quinoa kheer with goji berries. Why gojiberries in a kheer, i always want to mix few interesting ingredients to make some unique dishes out of the ingredients available in my pantry.

Quinoa & Goji Berries Kheer


Trust me even i was amazed to see how gojiberries works awesome with quinoa for making this incredible kheer. Gojiberries have a mild sweetness which is consider as a super food for many. I love to add gojiberries often in my diet, i do make smoothies, cereal bars with this incredible berries.However you can add these berries even in soups or in porridges. For a change, i tried adding them in kheer and we loved it. Quinoa and gojiberries works awesome together and we loved this kheer very much. The addition of goji berries turned this simple pudding more healthier than the usual one.

Quinoa & Goji berries Kheer, Quinoa & Gojiberries Kheer

1/2cup Quinoa
1/4cup Gojiberries
1cup Water
2cups Milk
1/2cup Sugar (decrease if needed)
1/2tsp Cardamom powder
Few cashew nuts
Ghee (as per need)

Cook the quinoa in pressure cooker along with water for 5-6 whistles.

Once the steam get released, add the milk,sugar,gojiberries,cardamom powder and cook everything until the kheer gets bit thickens.

Gluten free Quinoa Gojiberries Pudding

Heat the ghee, fry the cashewnuts, add this fried cashewnuts along with the ghee to the prepared quinoa kheer.

Serve warm or at room temperature.

  1. Goji berries is an interesting ingredient to add in the quinoa kheer , I too will be coming up with a similar kheer , but not as colourful as yours .

  2. I have never used Quinoa in kheer. Quite new to adding goji berries also in Indian sweets. very innovative Priya! It Looks exactly like our traditional kheers.
