Pizza Swirl bread

Am talking all about the one of the popular baking event We knead to Bake, a baking event by Aparna of My Diverse Kitchen. From this month onwards, a member of this group will guest host for this baking event. And this month's bake aka this Pizza swirl bread was picked by Niv Mani. She suggested this pizza swirl bread for this month's We knead to bake event. Since i was busy with some personnal stuffs, i thought that i may skip this month's challenge, but thank god i baked this super delicious bread during last weekend for our dinner to serve along with soup. This bread came out extremely aromatic, cheesy and delicious. One cant just stop having this bread, as this bread is dangerously addictive. I went just with tomato sauce, eventhough you can add some chopped vegetables or minced meats. However this bread is a keeper and you can bake this extremely delicious bread with different filling of your choice, give a try to this bread if you have some pizza lovers around you at home.

Eggless, Meatless Pizza Swirl Bread

Recipe Source: Food 52
Pizza Dough
1cup Tomato sauce (i used thick paste of tomato sauce)
1tsp Dried oregano
1/2tsp Crushed red pepper flakes (or more to taste)
3/4cup Emmental cheese (finely grated)
1cup Mozzarella cheese (grated)
Olive oil, as needed

Roll the pizza dough as a medium thick rectangular disc by dusting the dough with enough flour.

Spread the tomato sauce  over the dough, and spread it into an even layer.

Sprinkle the oregano and pepper flakes evenly over the sauce. Sprinkle evenly the cheeses and start rolling the dough from the longer side, roll it tightly as a log.

Use a sharp  knife to cut the roll in half lengthwise, if the dough is soft to handle, arrange them in fridge for an hour and cut it half in lengthwise.

Make a large X with the two cut pieces of dough.twisting the two pieces of dough together.  Tuck both ends a bit, and transfer the shaped loaf to the prepared loaf pan.

Cover  the dough with greased plastic wrap, and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350° F. Brush the surface of the loaf with olive oil, and bake for 30-35minutes or until the crust turns golden brown.

Cool for 15 minutes in the pan, then invert the loaf onto a cooling rack and cool completely.
