Chocolate Rice Kheer

Kheers are prepared during most of the Indian festivals and for many more special occasions. Its served typically during a meal as a dessert.Obviously we never fail to make kheers with vermicelli, sago, rice, dals. Since i chosed Indian dishes with chocolate for this week's blogging marathon, honestly i want to give a try to our usual rice kheer with chocolate.Rice kheer, my daughter's favourite, she loves it that much and she can have it even everyday. Thats why i do prepare kheer with rice quite often.

Coming to this chocolate rice kheer, this kheer tastes super delicious when served warm.Rice cooked in low fat milk, chocolate chunks and sweet condensed milk makes a wonderful super rich, creamy, chocolatey and delicious kheer.Rice kheer with chocolate touch tastes absolutely fabulous, for quick cooking i cooked the rice with milk and water separately in pressure cooker, if you dont like this short cut method you can go very well cooking rice grains in heavy bottomed pans.Check out the Blogging Marathon page for the other Blogging Marathoners doing this 29th edition.

1/4cup Basmati rice
2cups Milk
1cup Water
1/2cup Sweetened condensed milk
100grms Chocolate chunks (chopped)
1/2tsp Cardamom powder

Cook the basmati rice in pressure cooker along with water and  milk for 3 whistles, mash the rice well.

Once the steam get released, add the sweetened condensed milk, chopped chocolate chunks, cardamom powder and cook everything until the kheer gets bit thickens..

Serve warm topped with nuts.
