Minty Tomato Rasam

If u run out of coriander leaves or curry leaves to prepare ur rasam, do try out with some chopped mint leaves to prepare ur rasam, u will definitley find out the difference and this minty rasam will definitely become your favourite..I prepared this minty tomato rasam yesterday for our lunch, as i said i didnt have either curry leaves or coriander leaves to prepare the tomato rasam which i was planning for, then finally i chopped few mint leaves and prepared this flavourful rasam..We loved it and this hot minty rasam can be taken along with rice or either as soup, this rasam suits prefectly for everybody, we know that rasam takes less than 20 minutes..

3nos Tomatoes
1/2tsp Pepper powder
1/2tsp Cumin powder
1cup Cooked dal water
1/2tsp Lemon juice
3nos Curry leaves
1/2tsp Mustard seeds+cumin seeds
1/4tsp Asafoetida powder
2nos Dry red chillies
1no Green chilly (slit opened)
15nos Mint leaves (chopped)
Salt
Oil

Grind the chopped tomato pieces as puree.. add the tomato puree, pepper powder, cumin seed powder, salt and enough water to the cooked dal water...heat a tsp of oil,fry the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida powder, green chilly n red chillies..now add the chopped mint leaves and saute for few minutes, finally add the tomato and dal water immediately, let starts bubbling..put of the stove, immediately add the lemon juice..

Serve hot!

  13. Hi Priya, so sorry to hear that you suffer allergy too. It's terrible, isn't it? Even with meds everyday, I get headaches etc. I can't blog surfing much either. Take care, once it rains, pollen goes down. It's code Orange for us today, very bad air.

Love Minty Rasam. My Mint in the garden growing like crazy in this heat! :D
