Srilankan Broccoli Fry

Broccoli are quite rich in beta-carotene and vitamin C are important antioxidants that have been linked to a reduced risk of numerous conditions, including cataracts, heart disease, and several cancers... broccoli is an important calcium source for those who don't consume dairy products. Calcium does more than build strong bones. Research shows that this mineral may play a role in the control of high blood pressure, and it may work to prevent colon cancer. Broccoli is a member of the cabbage, or cole, family. It grows 11/2 to 21/2 feet tall and looks a bit like cauliflower.Broccoli takes the prize as the most nutritious vegetable around. Delicious raw or cooked, this vegetable can be a versatile vegetable can be suit prefectly for any style of cuisine..Here comes the srilankan style of making out broccoli fry with simple ingredients and this needs less than 15 minutes...Cooked crunchy broccoli fry tastes delicious with simple rice dish..This superb simple side dish goes to AWED-Srilanka guest hosted by Siri of Siri's Corner, event started by DK.. also goes to SWC-Cooking with Greens guest hosted by Sowmya of Creative Saga and finally to 15minutes Cooking by Mahimaa....



2cups Broccoli Florets (chopped finely)
2nos Onions (chopped)
2nos Green chillies (chopped)
5nos Garlic (chopped finely)
2tsp Dry red chilly flakes
1no Cinnamom stick
Oil
Salt
Cook the chopped broccoli with enough salt for 3 minutes(high) in microwave oven..Put the oil in a pan, saute the onions and green chillies, garlic and cinnamon. Fry until the onions are golden brown, add the cooked broccolis,stir... then add the dry chilly flakes, stir everything for a while, dont let the broccolis to change the colour...
Put off the stove and serve hot as side dish!
