Tofu Manchurian

Tofu is low in calories, contains beneficial amounts of iron especially important for women of child-bearing age and has no saturated fat or cholesterol. Tofu are quite rich in calcium too, tofu products can be split into two main categories: fresh tofu, which is produced directly from soy milk, and processed tofu, which is produced from fresh tofu...i prepared tofu manchurian sterday which was in my to do list since a long, this tofu manchurian is prepared with extra firm tofu marinated in soyasauce, green chilli sauce, cornflour for an hour, then deepfried n prepared again in sesame oil with green and red bell peppers...they tastes delicious, quite a easy dish which turns prefectly well as side dish.

To Marinate:
1cup Extrafirm Tofu cubes
1tsp Dark Soya sauce
1/4cup Corn flour
Salt(if needed)

1tsp Light soya sauce
1tsp Green chilli sauce
1tsp Tomato ketchup
1tsp White vinegar
2tbsp Sesame Oil
1tbsp Garlic chives or green onions (chopped)

Mix everything all the ingredients except the oil under the list to marinate...keep aside for an hour and deep fry the marinated tofu cubes until they turn brown...now heat the sesame oil n add immediately the chopped onion with minced garlic cloves, stir for a few minutes, add immediately the bell peppers with light soya sauce, green chilli sauce, tomato ketchup n white vinegar, toss everything for few minutes or until the oil get separates, add salt if needed...add now the deep fried tofus to the veggies, mix well until the tofu pieces get well mixed with the veggies n sauces..add finally the garlic chives pieces r green onions and put off the stove...

Tofu Manchurian looks good. Hey! Its a good idea to drain the tofu under some weight for at least half an hour for it to marinate even better. I have also had success in putting the tofu at 400 degrees F in the oven for 15 mins. instead of frying. I am going to try your recipe(with the modifications ;-) ).

Tofu manchurain looks delicious. I made Tofu Masala yesterday.I do the same for marinating.
Tofu has replaced paneer in our home. It is not as tasty as the paneer but is a very good healthy option.
