I have seen palak paneer n also palak tofu..thought of preparing channa masala for dinner, but a bunch of spinach green were laying in my fridge, i changed my menu to prepare the channa masala with spinach greens..i followed exacly wat we do for palak paneer..they really tastes awesome...they goes awesome with chappathis..a perfect, protein packed side dish for parathas, chappathis also for pooris..
1cup Cooked Garbanzo Beans/ Channa/Chick Peas
1/2tsp Cumin seeds
1/2no Onion chopped
1tsp Garam masala powder
1tsp Coriander powder
1/2tsp Red chilly powder
1tsp Gram flour
Salt
Oil
To Grind:
1bunch Spinach green
1no Onion chopped
1no Tomato chopped
1tsp Dry Methi leaves
1inch Ginger chopped
5nos Garlic pods
Pressure cook spinach green, chopped onion, chopped tomato,dry methi leaves, chopped ginger n garlic pods with half cup of water upto 3 hisses...put off the stove, keep aside n let them cool... grind them as fine paste..
Heat oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds n let them crack, now add the chopped onion n stir them continously until they turns transculent...add the red chilly powder, coriander powder, gram flour,salt n garam masala powder..fry them in simmer for a while..add the grounded spinach paste, bring them to boil..add the cooked garbanzo beans now to the gravy..again bring them to boil n put off the stove..
Serve hot with chappathis, parathas..
