Sprouted Kollu (horsegram) Sambhar

Kollu(horsegrams) packed with rich nutrients, if they r sprouted evenbetter than seeds..sprouted seeds prepared at home will be very fresh, sprouting will take maximum 3 days, why dont to try to sprout the seeds at home na!!! nowadays am sprouting a huge collections of seeds to add atleast once in our daily menus, i tried the sprouted horsegrams as sambhar, as per my decision to insert these protein packed seeds once in our daily menus..they turned out awesome, very delicious as well as healthy...

1cup Sprouted horsegrams (kollu)
1cup Toor dal(Thuvaram Paruppu)
1no Onion chopped
1no Tomato chopped
2nos Green chillies(slit opened)
1/2tsp Red chilly powder
1tsp Dhania powder
1tsp Lemon juice
1/4tsp Mustard seeds
1/4tsp Urad dal
1/4tsp Asafoetida powder
2nos Dry red chillies
5nos Curry leaves
2tsp Coriander leaves
Salt
Oil

Pressure cook the toor dal with turmeric powder upto 3 hiss..

Heat oil in a kadai, add the mustard seeds, urad dal n red chillies with asafoetida powder, let them splutters n get fried..add the chopped onion n chopped tomatoes with salt n stir them continously until they turn transculent..add the sprouted horsegrams n green chillies to the veggies n stir it for a while, this helps the horsegrams to get a bit cooked.

Add the cooked toor dal with enough water as well as redchilly powder n dhania powder along with the dal..once the horsegrams r bit cooked add this toor dal n let them cook until the veggies get cooked well, add the curry leaves n coriander leaves to the dal n put off the stove, add the lemon juice to the sambhar, dont add the lemon juice while they r boiling, this will destroy the vitamin c presents in lemon juice..

Serve hot with Rice topped with ghee...
