Gozleme is a popular Turkish stuffed flatbread and its quite a comforting food whoever loves stuffed flatbreads. My today's post is potato and cheese loaded flatbread which is quite a filling meal for anyone. Gozleme comes from the Turkish world 'GOZ'' which is refers to the Little eyes or brown circles that form on the dough while its gets cooked. Am postng Turkish potato and cheese gozleme for this week's blogging marathon as am running with Stuffed flatbread from different countries. My kids love potato and cheese in anything, and this Gozleme is our recent favourite. Quite a filling one and definitely a comforting food if you are craving for something cheesy for your brunch, lunch or dinner.
Though i used potato and cheese in filling, i couldnt stop myself adding some chopped spinach leaves as i want to feed my family with healthy greens in it. Gozlemes are just prefect to pack in anyone's lunch box as well. As these stuffed flatbreads are easy to freeze for later use, trust me you can prepare them in large batches. However dont forget to prepare this flatbreads atleast once, am sure you will definitely enjoy this satisfying flatbreads without any fuss. I used potato for filling, but you can prepare your own filling with loads of veggies and cheese. Just mix and match the ingredients to prepare your own dose of Gozleme.
For Dough
2cups All Purpose flour
1cup Luke warm water
2tbsp Oil
Salt
For Stuffing:
2nos Potatoes (cooked & mashed)
1no Onion(chopped)
1/2cup Cheese (grated)
1cup Spinach (chopped & sauteed)
1tsp Pepper powder
Salt
Take the flour in a bowl, add salt, olive oil and combine well. Let it sit for 10 mins.
Take all the ingredients given under the list for stuffing in a bowl, mix well and divide the filling as 4-5 portions.
Divide the dough and roll it as thin as possible.
Place a portion of the filling in the centre of the rolled dough, bring the edges to the centre to form as an envelope.
Repeat the same with the rest of the dough.
Heat a nonstick pan, place the prepared flatbread on the hot pan. Drizzle enough oil to cook the flatbread.
Keep the flame in simmer and cook on both sides until the gozleme turns golden brown.
Serve it warm.
