Christmas Candy Cane Cookies

Candy cane cookies, one of the popular festive cookies with a rich texture, a holiday favourite cookies for kids and adults. Always a must during Christmas season, this candycane cookies have their own place among the christmas cookies. Usually prepared with sugar dough, these cookies calls for two coloured dough. Those both colourful dough when twisted together, looks prefect as like the candy cane. These cookies are seriously very simple to bake. A prefect holiday cookies to bake and share with family and friends. If you want to bake some christmas friendly cookies then this cookies is a must to give a try. You can pack them very well as christmas gifts too.

Am running Kid's delight- Cookies and Cakes as theme for this week's blogging marathon, since its Christmas today, i couldnt stop myself posting this super buttery and dangerously addictive candy cane cookies to bring the festive mood. Kids enjoyed thoroughly this cookies and these cookies makes an excellent snacks when served along with some milk or hot chocolate. Trust me, you will simply love baking these cuties.

3/4cup Butter
1cup Icing Sugar
3tbsp Curd
1tsp Vanilla extract
2+1/2 cups All-purpose flour
1/2tsp Salt
Red food colour

Line up a baking tray with baking sheet and keep aside.

Pre-heat oven to 350F. Sift together flour and salt and keep aside.

Add butter and icing sugar together in the bowl of your electric beater. Beat on medium speed until the mixture becomes creamy.

Add the curd, vanilla extract and beat again until combined.Now add the flour and beat on slow speed until flour gets well mixed.

Do not over beat. Use your hands to bring the dough together.

Divide the dough into two equal portions. Add the red food colour to a dough portion and knead well.

Christmas candy cane cookies

Wrap it and keep in fridge for one hour.

Roll medium balls from both doughs, then roll the balls as small ropes.

Pinch the two ropes together and twist them. Arrange to a baking sheet lined over a baking tray.

Bake the cookies for 10 -15 minutes in middle rack.

Let them cook completely on the tray before you remove the cookies.

Conserve them properly.
