Aloo Paneer Kebab/Potato Paneer Kebab

Potato and paneer in kebabs, cant ask more rite. Both these two ingredients are our family favourite and they have their important place in our weekly menu. Though i dont like to get paneer from stores, Indian stores are loaded with this Indian cheese. Store bought cheeses are really handy when we dont have enough time to prepare paneer cheese at home. Last week, when we went to Indian store, i couldnt resist to pick a packet of paneer. After preparing a paneer curry, there were some leftover paneer cubes sitting in my fridge. Since i want to give a second life, i went on preparing this ultimate aloo paneer kebabs.

Aloo Paneer Kebab, Potato Kebab with cheese

Very easy to dish out, this kebabs makes an excellent starter or snacks when served along with some spicy chutney or sauces. Definitely a crowd pleaser, a kid's friendly kebab as well. Since kids love potatoes very much, this kebabs goes directly to their favourite dish. I picked Kebab Varieties as this week's theme for blogging marathon, am posting this Indian cheese-potato kebab. This panfried kebabs are very simple to make but they are dangerously addictive than you can imagine.

Potato paneer kebab, Aloo paneer tikki

4nos Potatoes (pressure cooked)
1/2cup Crumbled paneer
1no Onion (big & chopped)
1tsp Garam masala powder
1/2tsp Cumin powder
2nos Green chillies(chopped)
Salt
2tbsp Corn flour
Oil for shallow frying
1/2cup Breadcrumbs

Mash the cooked potatoes.

Heat few drops of oil, sauté the chopped onions until they turns transculent, cook for few minutes.

Add in this sauteed onions,crumbled paneer to the mashed potatoes.

Now add the garam masala powder, chopped green chillies, cumin powder, salt and mix well.

Make small sized patties from the mixture.

Paneer potato kebab, Aloo paneer cutlets

Prepare a slightly thick batter with corn flour with enough water, drop the prepared patties one by one to the prepared batter and roll them evenly over the breadcrumbs.

Keep aside and finish with the remaining patties.

Arrange the patties for an hour in fridge.

Heat enough oil in a pan, fry the prepared patties in small batches until the crust turns golden brown, drain the excess of oil with a paper towel.

Serve warm with ketchup.

  1. Agree with you ...these kababs must be addictive as both potato as well as paneer themselves are almost everybody's favorite, so when they combine together must have created wonders
