After a month of French cuisine, i couldnt stop myself showcasing an another European cuisine for this month of blogging marathon. We are back to the routine, yes from this month onwards we will be doing three days of blogging marathon. Obviously we have themes to pick for each week and i picked European cuisine as theme for this week's blogging marathon. Since i want to clear few of my bookmarks i picked Turkish cuisine and finally i baked some ultimate Turkish bagel aka Acma. This Turkish style soft bagels are very easy to bake and you doesnt need to prepare the water bath usually most of the bagel recipes calls for. This makes the difference, and this Turkish bagel is definitely very easy to give a try if you want to stick with an easy version of Bagel.
Acma do exists with different fillings, however i sticked with Binnur's Turkish Bagel which sounds prefect for me to give a try. With simple ingredients, you can bake out this soft and dangerously addictive bagels with less efforts. Apart from kneading, even shaping this bagels calls for less efforts, obviously if you are searching something easy to bake, i'll definitely suggest you this Turkish version of soft bagels.Though the original recipe called for egg glaze, i have completely skipped the egg white and went brushing the top of the bagel with milk to make mine as eggless Acma.As i told earlier, this post is going to be a part of this week's blogging marathon and i'll be showcasing different dishes from Turkish cuisine.
2cups Flour
1tsp Instant yeast
1/2cup Lukewarm milk
1/4cup Lukewarm water
2tbsp Sugar
1/2cup Olive oil
1/2tsp Salt
2tbsp Milk
Few Nigella seeds
Take the flour, yeast, sugar, oil, salt in a bowl, add in the luke warm milk, luke warm water and knead everything as a smooth and soft dough.
Arrange the dough in a greased bowl, wrap the bowl and keep aside in a warm place until the dough double the volume.
Once the dough doubles the volume, punch down the dough and divide the dough as 5-6 medium sized balls.
Roll the balls as a long rope and seal the edges to make a ring shape. Line a baking tray with a baking paper, arrange the bagels with enough spaces in between.
Let it sit for an hour in a warm place.Preheat the oven to 400F.
Brush the rolled bagels with milk, sprinkle the nigella seeds on the top. Bake for 10minutes, then turn the oven to 350F and bake for 15 minutes until the top turns golden brown.
Enjoy this bagels with your favourite drink.
