You might have already cooked with bittergourd atleast once in your life, though this gourd is bitter in taste they are super healthy and highly recommended for diabetic peoples.We get bittergourd in Indian groceries but i have never seen baby bittergourd here. But i got a chance to cook with baby bittergourds during my stay in India.Trust me a kg of this baby bittergourd costs just Rs 15 which i bought from a grandma who never fails to sell her homegrown veggies in market. I have became her client and never failed to get her super tender fresh vegetables whenever i go to Pondicherry farmer's market, seriously i miss those fresh produce here.
Coming to my today's post, this baby bittergourd fry was in my to do list since ages and finally i prepared some during my stay in India,though this cute lil babygourds are super bitter i simply loved them and enjoyed thoroughly with some rice and papads. If you are like me, am sure you will definitely enjoy this better bitter gourd poriyal without any fuss. 1/2kg Baby Bittergourd (chopped)
1no Onion chopped
1no Tomato chopped
1tsp Red chilly powder
1tbsp Coriander powder
1/2tsp Garam masala powder
Few Curry leaves
1/2tsp Mustard seeds
1/2tsp Urad dal
Salt
Oil
Heat oil in a kadai, add the mustard seeds and urad dal n let them splutters.
Add the chopped onion and saute for few minutes, then add the chopped tomatoes, cury leaves and saute them until they get cooked.
Add the bittergourd pieces to them saute for few more minutes.
Finally add the redchilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder,salt and toss everything well.
Cook them in simmer with lid closed until the oil gets separates,put off the stove.
Serve this fry simply with hot steaming rice.

Wow, the gourds are so tiny. I don't remember ever seeing them and the dish sounds great.
