Wiki says that Pudding is a kind of food that can be either a dessert or a savory dish. The word pudding is believed to come from the French boudin, originally from the Latin botellus, meaning "small sausage", referring to encased meats used in Medieval European puddings. The main ingredients to make pudding are butter, flour, cereal, eggs, which makes a solid mass. These puddings are baked, steamed or boiled. Depending on its ingredients, such a pudding may be served as a part of the main course or as a dessert.Boiled or steamed pudding was a common main course aboard ships in the Royal Navy during the 18th and 19th centuries.
If you searching for an easy breezy dinner to serve quickly everyone at home, then am sure this alluring pudding will definitely satisfy your tastebuds. Just onions along with usual pudding mixture makes this delicious pudding. However i would definitely like to add some vegetables to make this pudding more healthy and colourful, though everyone at home enjoyed thoroughly this caramelized onion pudding for their dinner along with crunchy cucumber salad. We loved it and enjoyed our dinner thoroughly. As you all know that am running my second week of blogging marathon with Food 52 weekly contest, after a salad and a turnover, i picked this caramelized onion pudding from the contest winning recipe for this week's theme.
