Ramadan festival is so special to Muslims all over the world, this festival helps to bring together family and friends. During this occasion , the food that the Muslims eat will be light, nutritious as their meals have loads of fresh fruits , vegetables and halal meats. Many types of food can be prepared specially for this festival. The Ramadan Pita Bread is one such food which is quite famous in all Muslim houses during this special holy season in Turkey.Ramadan pita is a special kind of flat bread that can be found in pastry stores only during Ramadan month. It can be baked with or without egg. However this bread is easy to make and tastes so delicious. This traditional Turkish bread is widely popular all around Turkey.
This bread have both white and wheat flour and is really simple to make.Am running my last week of blogging marathon and my theme for this week is Pick one do three, i couldnt resist to chose three different breads from bread stub. From the huge list of bread stubs, i immediately picked this Ramadan pita bread as this bread goes for an easy breezy preparation. Anyone can have this bread easily with a bowl of soup or else simply with a herbed cream cheese. We enjoyed thoroughly this bread, both cumin seeds and sesame seeds sprinkled on the top of this Pita bread gives a wonderful flavor to this flat bread.Check out the Blogging Marathon page for the other Blogging Marathoners doing BM#48.
1+1/2cups Bread flour
1cup Whole wheat flour
Luke warm water (as per need)
1tsp Instant yeast
1tsp Sugar
1tsp Salt
1tbsp Water
Sesame and cumin seeds
Take the flours together in a bowl, add in the yeast,sugar and salt.
Slowly add the water and knead everything as a soft and elastic dough for 10 minutes, arrange the dough in a greased bowl, keep aside for an hour.
After an hour, punch the dough, flat it as medium thick oblong disc.
With your finger tips, make some deep impressions around the edges and in the center of the disc.
Keep in warm place and let it rise for an hour.
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Brush the pita bread with water and sprinkle the sesame,cumin seeds generously on the top and bake in middle rack for 20-25minutes until the crust turns golden brown.
Let it cool completely on a wire rack.
Slice it as wedges and enjoy with soup or with herbed cheese.
1+1/2verre farine de blé type 65
1verre de farine de blé
L'eau tiède ( selon le besoin )
1c à café de levure instantanée
1c à café de sucre
1c à café de sel
1 c à soupe d'eau
Graines de cumin et sesame
Prenez les farines dans un bol , ajouter la levure , le sucre et le sel .
Ajouter lentement l'eau,pétrir pendant 10 minutes, ranger la pâte dans un bol graissé, garder de côté pendant une heure.
Après une heure, dégazez la pâte et rouler la en rond.
Avec vos doigts , faire des impressions profondes sur les bords et dans le centre du disque .
Gardez dans un endroit chaud et laisser lever pendant une heure .
Préchauffer le four à 350F/180C .
Badigeonner le pain pita avec de l'eau et saupoudrer le sésame, graines de cumin généreusement sur le dessus et cuire pendant 20-25minutes jusqu'à ce que la croûte soit bien dorée .
Laisser refroidir complètement sur une grille.
Tranchez et dégustez avec du fromage aux fines herbes .
