Coming to today's guest, She is none other than Preeti Tamilarasan of Indian Kitchen. For me,Preeti means a brilliant photographer, excellent cook, innovative chef and a pure non vegetarian lover. If you go through her space, her breath taking pictures will definitely speaks a lot. Give her an ingredient, am sure she will give you back an incredible dish. Her creativity doesnt have any boundary and she makes me hungry everytime whenever i go to her space.
Preeti is a humble, down to earth person, modest, and a young lady who always speaks from the bottom of her heart, if you have chitchat with her am sure you cant stop yourself pinging her atleast once a day.Recently she even joined her hands with few more blogger friends for making a virtual birthday for me, how lucky i am na.I have to say a big thanks to this virtual world for giving me a bunch of honest friends to whom i can share my laughs and sorrows, obviously Preeti is one among them. Trust me, am eagerly waiting to make a trip to India just to meet few of them.I came across Preeti's blog before a year and from that day onwards i got hooked to her space and i never failed to visit her space.Whenever i talk to Preeti, i feel like speaking to my younger sister who listens her elder sister, thanks Preeti for being this much kind towards me and seriously am loving our sister-friendship bond between us.
Now lets hear from Preeti Tamilarasan of Indian Kitchen...
I have know priya akka for past 1 year but never tried to talk to her. For past 5-6 months we have come close to each other and I really admire her cooking and baking skills. She is juvenile, down to earth and really hard working person. I have always told her to write a cooking book but every time she neglects it.. I hope she will write at least for us.
When Priya akka came up with this idea, I included my name in the list but somehow could not complete the post in given date. Thanks akka for giving me time.
Tell us about you and your blog?
I'm Preeti Tamilarasan (aka PT) of Indian Kitchen. My blog is 1 year and 8 months old. I live in Chennai. It was my husband who pushed me to blogging and now I'm enjoying this blogging world a lot.
Before and after blogging, tell us what blogging changed your life?
I always had interest in cooking but only non-veg. Before and After blogging I doesn't see much changes in me except for photography interest. Blogging world introduced me to this amazing experience.
Regarding cooking, I always had liking for Non-Veg cooking but never tried to experiment with diff varieties. And also I was not aware of baking which can be done at home.
When and what motivated you to blog about food?
It was a decision made by my husband to start blogging after seeing my interest in cooking. All credit goes to him :)
There a tons of blogs/pages on food these days, what according to you is speciality to your blog and the food you cook and click?
I like to cook simple food without much complication. You would find collection of day to day easy recipes in my blog.
When its comes to cooking; who is your inspiration?
My family is my inspiration who always supported me and corrected me whenever I go wrong. Specifically my brother likes my style of cooking since I cook varieties.
Every newbie blogger faces tons of challenges when it comes to blogging, tell me about one of the challenges you faced? how did you overcome it? please specify with facts and details..
As I'm always allergic to technical data, I faced lot of issues and still facing right from designing web header, social sharing icons etc. I'm thankful to Priya Ranjit who helped to sort out few issues.
What is your best recipe and your favourite recipes you have blogged till now?
Of course I would say all the non-veg recipes I shared are my favourite. But the most fav one and also my family's fav is Karuveppilai Chicken Curry.
Few tips about food photography?
First and foremost tip would be keep practicing.. never give rest to photography.. Always take photos in natural day light and dont use camera flash. If possible make a sketch before taking photos since it gives u idea and also saves time.
What is your budget for the props,do you have any or else do you manage with your household stuffs?
I dont use my household stuffs for taking photos. I keep separate budget for food props. Monthly I spend max 1000 rupees for my props and paints for the board.
How do you plan your blog posts? Do you post rarely, regularly or once a week?
My plan is to post daily but I always end up with 4-5 recipes per week.
Do you have any other passions apart from food blogging or blogs you own?
I spend most of my time in cooking and clicking. Apart from this I love to listen music and watch tv.
I wanted to try something cool for this cool personality, so came up with this Paneer Kheer Popsicles. I was looking for chocolate covering option but couldn't do it. Instead of that, I dipped the Popsicles in choco syrup and had it.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup scrambled paneer (cottage cheese)
500 ml Milk
1/2 tin condensed milk
203 tbsp finely chopped almonds
1 tsp cardamom seeds powder
Method :
Boil milk on medium flame. Once it starts reducing, add condensed milk and cardamom powder to it.
Stir well. Add scrambled paneer and chopped almonds. Stir for a minute and remove from the heat.
Allow to cool.
Wash the Popsicle moulds and fill it with kheer. Make sure to not fill till the top. Keep the mould in freezer and leave it overnight.
Next day, before serving, take the moulds and keep under running water for few seconds. Take the popsicle carefully and coat it with chocolate or dip in choco syrup and serve.

Preeti, this recipe sounds absolutely delicious. I was interested to find out that you live in Chennai. Chennai was the first city I visited in India, and I was not prepared for what I saw there. But I have since come to love and enjoy India. I'm hoping that one day I can return to your city and see it through different eyes. Even though I cannot find many of the ingredients for your recipes, I save the recipes in hopes that I will be able to make them sometime.
