As i told earlier,my H need two or three side dishes to enjoy Idlies or dosas for his dinner, sometimes i was bored to repeat the same stuffs and yesterday i wanted to make something different, finally i got this great looking curry from Solai aunty's Kathirikkai malli pachadi which immediately tempted me a lot to try out for our yesterday's dinner..This curry goes truly for a quick and easy preparation with simple ingredients which tastes terribly delicious and we relished it..Never thought both brinjal and coriander leaves together works out wonder..This pachadi goes truly fabulous along with idlies or dosas also at the same time as gravy for rice..'Two in one gravy' yep i named it as though..Sending this yummy pachadi to Radhika's CBBseries#2-Chettinad Special & to PJ's Herbs & Flowers in my Platter guest hosted by Krithi..
5nos Brinjal(medium sized)
1no Onion(big & chopped)
1no Tomato (chopped)
1cup Coriander leaves (chopped)
1tsp Sambar powder
2no Green chillies (slit opened)
1/2tsp Tamarind paste
1/4cup Toor dal (cooked)
1tsp Cumin seeds
1tsp Urad dal
Few curry leaves
Heat enough oil, let splutters cumin seeds, urad dal and curry leaves, add immediately the chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, slit opened green chillies, saute everything for few seconds, add immediately brinjal, cook for few minutes, add now the water and sambar powder, cook everything for few minutes, until the brinjals get cooked, add the tamarind juice, salt and cooked dal now..cook everything again for few minutes, finally add the chopped coriander leaves, bring boil and put off the stove..
This pachadi shouldnt be too liquid and brinjals cooked...Enjoy with rice, rotis or idlies.
