Eggless Wholewheat Saffron & Walnut Cookies

Its quiet long i have nt baked cookies even my little one started asking me when am gonna make his favourite cookies,he just love cookies and he never stopped picking his favourite chocolate cookies whenever we go for shopping, this time i wanted to make cookies with saffron strands and walnuts and completely skipped the chocolates with which i usually prepare or make cookies, i used whole wheat pastry flour for making these cute looking nutty cookies which tastes marvellous and a prefect cookies to enjoy for snacks, since i had a packet of chironji which i used for rolling the cookies to give a rich look to this baked beauties..

Eggless Wholewheat Saffron Walnut Cookies

2cups Whole wheat flour
1cup Sugar (powdered)
1tsp Baking powder
1/2tsp Baking soda
1/2cup Butter (room temperature)
1/2tsp Saffron strands (crushed)
1/4cup Walnuts (chopped)
2tsp Chironji (crushed) for rolling the cookies
Milk as per need

Take the butter and sugar in a bowl, beat until they turns as smooth paste, meanwhile sieve the flour with baking powder and baking soda, add the crushed saffron strands to the butter mixture, give a stir and now add gradually the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients..finally add the milk, crushed walnuts and turn everything as dough. ..Keep the dough for 15minutes in fridge wrapped in a plastic sheet..

Preheat the oven to 350F, make medium sized balls from the chilled dough, roll them over the crushed chironji and arrange them over the baking sheet lined over a baking tray...Bake for 15-20minutes in middle rack, enjoy this nutty cookies with a cup of coffee or tea for snacks..
