Am Happy to be a part of Recipe Marathon by DK from 1st Nov to 30th Nov..Ready Start go!!!!!
Okra has been referred to by other names including, okro, ochro, bamia, bamie, gombo, gumbo, quiabo and quingombo. It is available all year round and is a tropical plant growing particularly in warm climates. One hundred grams of Okra contains about 33 calories, 2.0 grams of protein, 7.6 grams of carbohydrates, with 0.1 grams fat. It is a very good source of dietary fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, thiamin, riboflavin, folate, calcium, magnesium, potassium and manganese, and a good source of niacin, iron, phosphorus, zinc and copper. Prawns are low in fat and calories especially when flavored in a low-fat marinade, prawns also offers beneficial doses of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B12 and niacin. Prawns also are mineral-rich, supplying iron, zinc and copper. I already tried fried rice with okra with indian spices, this time for a change, i want to prepare them with soyasauce n chilly sauce as chinese style...they turned out really very tasty...easy, quick n tasty recipes with okra n prawns...
2cups Cooked rice
1cup Okra chopped
20nos Prawns
1no Onion chopped lengthwise
1tbsp Soya sauce
1tbsp Green chilly sauce
1tsp Ginger crushed
5nos Garlic pods sliced
1/2tsp White pepper powder
2pinch Ajinamoto
Salt
2tbsp Sesame oil
2tbsp Garlic chives chopped
Heat few drops of the sesame oil in a pan, add the chopped Okra pieces with salt n cook them for few minuted until the stickiness disappears..
Heat the rest of the oil, add the onion chopped lengthwise with ginger n garlic..stir them for few minuted, onions should be bit crunchy, they shouldnt get cooked well.. add the shrimps to the onion with soya sauce, chilly sauce, ajinamoto n cook for a while..now add the cooked rice to the shrimps..toss everything gently..check for salt else can add salt if needed...before putting of the stove, add the cooked okras n white pepper powder n garnish with garlic chives...
