Thengapaal Kozhukattai/Coconutmilk Riceflour Dumplings

Thenga Paal Kozhukattai..a very delicious festive recipe. ..One of the Traditional dish. My mom will do this even for snacks as we love to have this small pearls of rice flour with a creamy coconut milk.Very tasty dish, can also prepare them easily with cow milk too..

2cups Rice flour
1cup Sugar
1cup Grated Coconut
5nos Cardamom pieces
2cup Water
Salt
1cup Hot water

Heat two cups of water in a nonstick pan r heavy bottomed pan..once the water is hot put the stove in simmer..add the rice flour n salt tohe hot water n stir it until they cook n turns as a soft dough..should be very alert coz this will happens within a short period n very fast.

Keep the dough apart. Take a small piece from the dough n make as tiny small balls like seedai, can do any shape as u wish. While making balls close the left dough with a lid else it will get dry, use a bit oil while making balls so that they wont stick in ur palm.
Cook this small tiny balls in pressure cooker for 8 minutes in Idli plates, cook them in batch.
Meanwhile grind grated coconut with 1/2 hot water, strain it n keep the milk apart, this is first thick coconut milk..grind again grounded coconut with another half cup of water n strain the milk, this is second coconut milk..
Heat the second thenga paal in heavy flame for 2 minutes, add sugar, cardamom powder, stir it until the sugar dissolves, add the tiny rice balls in it..after 5 minutes put off the stove n add the first thick coconut milk. Adjust the thickness of the coconut milk as u wish.

If u r using tinned coconut milk, take 1/2 cup of thick coconut milk n add 1/2 cup of water, heat this coconut milk in simmer for a while n add sugar, cardamom n stir it n add the rice balls..put off the stove

Tasty Thenga paal kozhukattais r ready..prepare these atleast 2 hrs before to serve. Serve them chilled..
