Rose Syrup,Sago & Oats Kheer

Quite an easy kheer which i prepared few days back for our sudden visitors, this kheer is prepared with sago and oats along with few rose syrup which gives a beautiful pink colour to this delicious kheer..This kheer gets ready very easily and definitely a delicious dessert to serve after a lunch or dinner..Adding oats in this kheer makes this kheer healthier..Enjoy this kheer when they were still warm, am damn sure whoever tastes this kheer will definitely ask one more cup definitely, obviously its one of my recent favourite..


 Rose Syrup, Sago & Oats Kheer

1/2cup Sago
1/2cup Rolled Oats
2tbsp Rose syrup
2cup Milk
1/2cup Sweetened condensed milk
Few fried cashew nuts+raisins
1tsp Ghee
1/4tsp Cardamom powder

Cook the sago with enough water until they turns transparent, drain the sago and keep aside...Bring boil the milk and condensed milk together, now add the already cooked sago and rolled oats,cook in simmer until the kheer get slightly thickend, immediately add the rose syrup,fried cashews,fried raisins,ghee,cardamom powder, bring everything to boil and put off the stove..

Serve warm or chilled...

Artichoke & Curry Leaves Chutney

Earlier, i have told that my H need absolutely two side dishes whenever i serve him dosas or idlis, needless to say i have to scratch my head to come up with different combinations of chutney to satisfy his tastebuds..Recently i started cooking artichoke hearts  and i couldnt stop myself making different dishes with this veggies...Yesterday for our dinner i tried out making arthichoke hearts and curry leaves together as chutney, this chutney tastes truly marvellous,tangy and simply a fabulous chutney which suits prefectly along with our traditional idlis and dosas..Also this chutney goes prefect even along with rice porridge and we loved it..This yummy tangy chutney goes to Healing Foods -Artichoke guest hosted by Vanessa, event by Siri and to Pari's  Only Original Recipes guest hosted by Nivi..


Artichoke & Curry leaves chutney

5-6nos Artichoke hearts (canned)
1/4cup Curry leaves
5nos Garlic cloves
3nos Dry red chillies
1tbsp Coriander seeds
1no Tamarind (blueberry size)
1tbsp Urad dal
Oil
Oil
1/2tsp Mustard seeds
1/4tsp Urad dal


Heat few drops of oil, fry the garlic cloves,urad dal, dry red chillies, coriander seeds and curry leaves until they turns brown, take them in a mixie, now add the chopped artichoke hearts to the same pan and fry until they shrinks a bit...Take this sauteed artichoke hearts along with the fried spices,tamarind, grind as bit coarse paste with enough salt and water..

Meanwhile heat enough oil, let splutters the mustard seeds, urad dal and add this temperd spices to the grounded paste, mix well and serve as side dish..

Whole Wheat Eggless Almond Cookies

Our this month's Sweet Punch challenge is this yummy and easy breezy cookies...Ria choosed these scrumptious cookies from Manjula's Kitchen, these cookies were extremely delicious and really very easy to make, loved making this eggless whole wheat almond cookies twice already and everytime they gets vanished once they came out the oven..Enjoy this yummy cookies with a cup of tea for snacks, u will definitely have a fabulous snacks time..This cookies doesnt go for baking powder or baking soda and its quite buttery and yummy when they were still warm, we guys didnt stopped munching this fabulous cookies..Thanks a ton to Ria for choosing this simply delicious cookies for our this month's challenge..

Eggless Whole Wheat Almond Cookies


1cup Whole wheat flour
1/2cup Sugar
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4cup Sliced almonds
1/2tsp Cardamom powder (coarsely powdered)
1/2 cup Butter (room temperature)
Milk as per need

Pre heat the oven to 350 F..Mix the flour, sugar, salt, sliced almonds and cardamom powder well with ur fingers in a bowl..Add the butter and milk to the flour mixture to make a soft dough.Divide the dough into about 20-22 equal parts and make them into balls and flat each balls..

Place the flattened balls over a baking sheet leaving some space between each cookies...Bake the cookies for about 18 minutes or until cookies are lightly gold brown. Let the cookies cool down for two to three minutes before taking them off the cookie sheet.

Enjoy with coffee or tea..

MW Garlic Rice

Its has been ages i had this spicy and flavourful garlic rice, its quite a quick fix rice and definitely a prefect one pot meal whoever loves garlic flavour in any dishes...Love this garlic rice served with fried papads, a fabulous combo to enjoy..This garlic rice goes for simple ingredients, my version of garlic rice goes for few chopped shallots and chopped garlic cloves, both together tastes marvellous and needless to say that this rice is one of my top most favourite one pot meal, this time i tried making my fav rice in microwave oven and this rice gets ready to enjoy within 30minutes..Am sending this flavourful spicy garlic rice to Srivalli's MEC-Rice Dishes guest hosted by Priya..

Garlic rice




















2cups Rice(soaked for 15minutes)
1/4cup Shallots (chopped)
1/2cup Garlic cloves (chopped)
1/2tsp Mustard seeds
1/2tsp Urad dal
2nos Dry red chillies
1tsp Red chilly powder
Few curryleaves
Salt
Oil

Take the soaked rice with 4cups of water in a microwave safe bowl, cook in high power for 20 minutes,until the rice get cooked..keep aside and let them cool completely..

Take enough oil in a bowl,add the mustard seeds,urad dal,dry red chillies and curry leaves, cook for 2-3 minutes in high power, add the chopped shallots and chopped garlic cloves,red chilly powder and salt,cook again for 5-7minutes (stir in between twice)..Finally add the cooked rice, toss gently and just cook for few seconds in microwave oven and serve..

Enjoy with papads...
