Sugo al pomodoro, is a simple, easy and delicious classic Italian sauce which is prepared with simple ingredients. This sauce is prepared with onions, tomatoes with basil leaves, and this combination makes an excellent sauce to enjoy with pastas or else for layering your lasagna and why not to top a pizza crust. Yes this sauce is quite versatile and can be freezed very much for further use. Dont know why, this time i couldnt stop myself to post three classic tomato based Italian sauces for this week's blogging marathon. However anything cooked with tomatoes is our family favourite especially Italian sauces. Needless to say i have some ardent fans of pasta dishes at home, obviously all three sauces i have posted for this week's blogging marathon was a super duper hit among my family members.
You might have noticed that i have been posting tomato based Italian sauces for this week's blogging, yes my theme for this week is Italian sauces. Kids enjoyed this sauce thoroughly with farfalle pasta for their saturday lunch with grilled meats. If you are looking for a simple and easy breezy classic Italian sauce, dont forget to give a try to this tomato sauce which will definitely please your tastebuds. Nice, pulpy reddish tomatoes makes excellent Sugo al Pomodoro, so dont do any compromise when its comes to pulpy tomatoes to get the bright reddish sauce.

1kg Tomatoes
1cup Onions (chopped)
1tbsp Tomato paste
1tsp Sugar
Salt
1/4cup Olive oil
Few basil leaves
Bring boil a pot of water, meanwhile make a cross on every tomatoes.
Now drop the tomatoes in hot water and cook until their skins gets off.
Drop the tomatoes to chilled water and remove their skins, cut them as four and discard the seeds.
Cut the tomato as small pieces.
Heat enough olive oil in a pan, add the chopped onions and saute until they turns transculent.
Now add the chopped tomatoes, salt and cook until the tomatoes gets well mashed.
Add the tomato paste, sugar and cook everything in medium flame until the sauce turns semi thick.
Finally add the chopped basil leaves and put off the stove.
Add a dash of olive oil in the sauce and serve with cooked pastas.

This is very simple pasta sauce. In this Italian sauces theme, I loved all of the pasta sauces you shared. Great work done. I will try my hands on such things very soon.
