You can dish out many ultimate dishes with Quinoa, this grain is very versatile and you can replace this grain very well where we use rice. You have so many ways to add this quinoa in our daily diet. Easy to cook, quinoa can be prepared very much well in our Indian cuisine with our spices. And my today's post proves it well. Last sunday, i was not in mood to prepare something special, actually i felt like having something spicy and tangy. Hence i couldnt stop myself to prepare this incredible fusion dish. Actually Pulihora/Puliyogare/Puliyodharai is usually prepared with rice and tamarind sauce aka pulikachal.I have already posted this tangy Pulikachal/Tamarind Rice paste here, since i had this paste in my fridge, i quickly prepared this ultimate dish easily with less efforts.
Though i prepared this tangy quinoa puliyogare for our lunch, this dish can be prepared very much well for dinner. Am running this week's blogging marathon with Vegetarian dinner ideas as theme. Needless to say that this lipsmacking fusion pulihora makes an excellent dinner. Since this grain is rich in protein, this delicious quinoa pulihora will definitely please anyone's tastebuds. If you have storebought tamarind rice paste, you can prepare this same dish easily as well. Give a try and do let me know.
1cup Quinoa
2tbsp Pulikachal/Tamarind Rice Paste
1tbsp Gingelly oil
Salt
Cook quinoa with enough water and salt until its gets cooked.
Drain it and fluff it with a fork.
Let it cool completely. Add the tamarind rice paste, meanwhile warm the gingelly oil.
Mix the cooked quinoa well with the tamarind paste, and add gradually the hot gingelly oil.
Once the quinoa gets well coated with the tamarind paste, let them sit for an hour.
Serve with papads, fried potatoes or else with fryums.
Enjoy.

Great idea to substitute quinoa in day to day recipes. Very nice.
Quinoa pulihora looks just like regular pulihora. Nice fusion recipe of a classic traditional South Indian dish.
I love quinoa in all forms , this is a good meal option.
making it with quinoa instead of rice is such a healthy alternative
Wow..Looks so inviting & delicious..But still quinoa is not the staple food in my pantry, need to include in my diet.
Delicious! Love teh way you have substituted rice with quinoa.
Sure is a healthier alternative to the rice version.
That's such a comforting and delicious looking quinoa. Love the Indian twist to quinoa.
Lovely idea of using quinoa to make puliyodharai. This should have added so much of flavor to the ptherwise bland quinoa.
