Once the autumn starts here in Paris, you wont miss street vendors selling freshly roasted chestnuts which is quite common in every street corners. Freshly roasted chestnuts are our favourite street food obviously we never miss to get them. Then later i came to know how to roast and steam cook chestnuts at home which is quite similar to roasting/steam cooking peanuts but it will take more time to get roast/steam cook. Roasted chestnuts tastes fabulous while the weather is too nasty. When i picked Seasonal Special as theme for this week's blogging marathon, i seriously want to give a try to a different dish with chestnuts. Hence i want to give a trial with a smoothie bowl with steam cooked chestnuts and this smoothie came out extremely delicious. Trust me, we enjoyed thoroughly our smoothie bowl for our sunday brunch.
Since i prepared a smoothie with chestnuts for the first time, i couldnt stop myself adding some sweetened chocolate powder aka nesquik chocolate drink powder. To prepare my smoothie bowl i opted for greek yogurt and rolled oats. This smoothie tastes absolutely fabulous and extremely nutty to enjoy for a lazy brunch or breakfast. I went for kiwi, chopped chestnuts, chia seeds and roasted pumpkin seeds as topping to serve the chestnut smoothie bowl. Give a try to this different smoothie bowl if you want add chestnuts in your diet.
1/2cup Cooked Chestnuts
1/2cup Rolled oats (soaked in warm water)
2cups Greek yogurt
Honey (as per need)
2tbsp Nesquik chocolate powder
Kiwi (as per need)
Chia seeds (as per need)
Chopped chestnuts (as per need)
Pumpkin seeds (as per need)
Take the cooked chestnuts, soaked rolled oats, honey, nesquik chocolate powder, greek yogurt, water (if needed) in a blender.
Blend everything to smoothie, pour the smoothie in a bowl.
Top it with kiwi,chia seeds, chopped chestnuts, pumpkin seeds.
Serve immediately.

I never used chestnuts other than roasting in the oven. The smoothie sounds like an interesting idea.
